Because I have the flexibility to manage my schedule, I can easily accommodate feeding times, potty breaks, medication schedules, or just extra one-on-one time when your pup needs a little extra love. Hi there! I’m located just 8 minutes from downtown Highlands, North Carolina, on a quiet 10-acre property nestled in the woods and along a pristine watershed. It’s the perfect setting for dogs who love to explore, sniff, and enjoy peaceful surroundings. I’m a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for a wide range of pets, including our playful golden retriever puppy and five affectionate Sphynx cats. Whether your dog loves long walks, lounging in the sun, or playing fetch under a canopy of trees, they’ll feel right at home here. We offer a calm, loving environment with plenty of space to roam and a secure, covered porch for rest and relaxation. I work from home, so your dog will get lots of attention and care throughout the day. I’m also happy to accommodate any feeding schedules or medication needs. I look forward to welcoming your pup into our home and treating them like one of our own.

Information Jennifer C. would like to know about your pet

Before welcoming your dog into our home, it’s helpful to know a few key things to ensure a smooth, happy stay: • Feeding schedule and dietary needs – including portion sizes, treats, allergies, or sensitivities. • Medical history and medications – anything we need to be aware of, including ongoing treatments or emergency instructions. • Behavioral traits – how your dog interacts with other pets, people, and unfamiliar environments. • Comfort items and routines – favorite toys, bedtime habits, or anything that helps your pup feel secure. • Training cues – commands they respond to, leash etiquette, and house-training status. The more we know, the better we can make your dog feel right at home. We’re committed to providing personalized care with lots of love and attention.

A typical day

A typical day with us is relaxed, enriching, and full of love. Your dog will start the morning with a peaceful walk under the shaded canopy of our long, wooded driveway—fresh mountain air and birdsong included. After breakfast, there’s plenty of time to explore the property, sniff around, or enjoy some supervised playtime in the open grassy areas. Throughout the day, your pup will have the freedom to lounge on our covered, gated porch or curl up indoors in a cozy spot by my side while I work from home. We make time for fetch, enrichment games, and cuddles—whatever your dog enjoys most. In the afternoons, we go on another walk or spend time on the porch soaking in the sunshine and breeze. Dinner is served around the same time as home, and we follow your feeding and medication routines to keep your dog on schedule. Evenings are quiet and calm. Your dog can wind down with soft music and gentle attention before settling in for the night indoors, safe and warm. It’s a peaceful routine in a loving, low-stress environment—just like home.

Rosie's stay at Jennifer and Lilly's house was great! Jennifer was very prompt in responding to my questions. She had a warm welcome and was introduced to their pups. We felt very comfortable in leaving her for the night. If we are ever in the area again and need a dog sitter, we will call on Jennifer and Lilly. Thanks for treating Rosie like she was part of the family!

My fur babies loved their stay with Jennifer. They were well cared for the entire time. Jennifer kept me informed via video and text on the status of my boys so I did not have to worry how they were doing. I would highly recommend Jennifer for your next booking. I will use her again when I return to Highlands as she was less than 10 minutes from the home we stayed at and Jennifer gave us the opportunity to come and visit our fur babies whenever but when I realize how much fun they were having, we chose not to interfere with their vacation as well. Thanks to Jennifer our vacation was stress free and we did not have to worry about our dogs!

Jen and her family provided such an incredible home away from home for Oscar. Oscar had so much fun playing with his two new BFFs Georgia and Sushi Roll (Jen’s two beautiful kind dogs) and living the mountain dog lifestyle exploring the great outdoors around Jen’s beautiful property! We appreciate how incredibly communicative and flexible Jen was with us. And most importantly how great of care she took for our pup over an extended stay. We will be back to Highlands and look forward to Oscar’s reunion with Jen and his new best dog friends!!
