Counselor care for you pet

If I am not available, please check out Aaron D in my same area, I fully recommend her for boarding and dog training. I've owned various animals since I was a child including fish, hermit crabs, snakes, frogs, mice, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, dogs, and cats. Yes, I had a small zoo. I've raised one dog from a puppy though most of my dogs were rescues. I also worked for Petsmart back in the late 1990s in the aquatics/small animal section, this was back in the day when they gave raises based on your knowledge of the animals. In my neighborhood I have found many lost cockatiels, cats, and dogs, and helped them find safety and their owners. I often pet sit for friends and family and have been able to walk up to 5 dogs at a time, but don't recommend it unless you know all 5 dogs and have infinite patience with untying knots in leashes! I understand that your pet may need certain foods, care, or even assistance. A dog that I lost (to kidney disease) blew a disc in her back 7 years prior and after surgery her mobility was significantly decreased. After the initial physical therapy at VSS, I continued to work with her to help her regain mobility and invested in ramps, pet stairs, and even a dog wheelchair (but contraptions were evil). I am very practiced at giving dogs pills, even the ones who can sniff the pill out in a pile of cheese or Braunschweiger. In the past I've had to give shots to a guinea pig, and, yes, their skin is as tough as a football. I also understand that some pets have dietary restrictions or certain needs and am always happy to work to ensure that you pet's needs are met without giving them anything that may upset their stomachs or their health.

Jennifer is such a great sitter! She provided daily updates with info and photos, and sometimes videos too. I knew my pup was having a fun time with her pups and I didn't need to worry about him at all! I highly recommend Jennifer!

Schedule

I am a mental health counselor (LPC) and currently working remotely from home. I was hoping to help other pet owners with a comfortable place where their pets can be treated like family. I will typically respond to requests for bookings or meets between 8am and 8pm. I request that you give me a couple days heads up for a booking if you are a new client so that we can discuss any particulars that need to be arranged. Established clients can reach out to me the day before. BOARDING I have 2 dogs, Archie (born August 2022 25lb Skye Terrier male) and Sammy (born 2021 10lb Maltese mix male). Your pets are welcome to board with me any time my schedule shows me as available. I will ask that all new clients bring their pets to meet my dogs. That way we will know that the dogs will get along. CANCELATIONS Cancelations may be done same day as service, just make sure it's before the service by at least 1 hour otherwise I may contact you to see where you are for boarding.

Safety, trust & environment

My dogs are spayed/neutered and are friendly with other small dogs (below knee height). I have a water fountain to encourage drinking that I clean weekly (or more often as needed). I have several dog bowls for food and typically will feed 2 meals daily. You provide the food of choice for your dog and any treats you would like me to give along with any guidelines for feeding. I tend to stock basic treats like True Acre Foods Biscuits that I may give your dog, if there are any allergies or you would prefer your dog be kept on a strict diet please let me know. In the home I have several dog beds and dog crates available for use as well as baby gates that I can put up to limit the dog's ability to explore the home if needed. My home is dog friendly and dogs are allowed on the furniture and the bed, there are pet steps and ramps to the couch and bed. Most of the home is hardwood floors for easy clean up of any messes. The home is 1 story with a finished basement that the dogs are typically kept out of and 4 steps leading to the backyard. I am able to assist dogs with these steps if needed. Outside I have a large fenced in backyard where I often keep bowls of water for the dogs and have comfortable seating so I can sit with the dogs while they enjoy the outdoors and hunt.

Pets

A typical day

We love to enjoy the backyard during good weather, there are lots of squirrels and rabbits to hunt. I tend to walk 1-2 times daily dependent on weather taking the dogs with me as they are able to go. My dogs loves to walk to a park that's about a block from my home. He does not accompany me on longer walks. I also spend a good amount of time giving scratches and many dogs seem to believe, while I am scratching them at least, that I am the best scratcher ever.
