Calm & Cozy Home Seeks Dogs
I honestly can’t remember the last time I wasn’t caring for a pet. My beloved dogs, Kona and Honey Bear, both recently passed away—unrelated but within just six weeks of each other. While I’m not ready to take on full ownership of a dog right now, I’m eager to share my time and love with other dogs. I miss the walks, the silly moments, and the bond I had with them. To me, pets embody the way we should live our lives—fully present, paws on the ground. Spending time with dogs brings me so much joy. I’ve had the privilege of serving as the director at Friends of Pima Animal Care Center and have fostered about 25 pets over the years. My last girl, Honey Bear, was a “foster fail” because she was just too darn cute to let go! I have a keen sense for when dogs aren’t feeling well or about to misbehave, and I’m tuned into their behaviors. I’m also experienced with giving medicine and handling the less glamorous side of dog care—like poop and vomit. They’re a little gross but oh-so-lovable! I come home for lunch every day and work from home on Fridays. Feel free to ask any questions—I’m happy to chat!

Ratings and reviews
I just can’t say enough about Jennifer! She is a wonderful dog sitter and was SO great with our little chihuahua mix rescue dog, Remi. After bringing him home only 7 months ago, he has made so much progress but still has some little quirks. I gave Jennifer lots of information and went over everything with her. She welcomed being so informed and was not at all hesitant to take him. During our meet-and-greet, as well as his stay with her, Remi was comfortable and relaxed. Jennifer was able to read him and knew what he needed, including constant supervision in the yard since he is so small. She is very quiet, calm and relaxed, so there is an ease about her that I’m sure dogs can feel - because I could, too! Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to cut our trip short and pick Remi up early. Jennifer was very flexible and accommodating. When I arrived to pick him up, he was happy and excited, and acting like his normal, perky little self. I could see that he was totally comfortable and at ease at Jennifer’s house, and she was sad to see him go early because she loved hanging out with him. I felt so good about his stay and will absolutely ask her to watch him again. I’m very lucky to have found her and know that Remi will love going to Auntie Jennifer’s house in the future when Mom and Dad have to be away. Thank you, Jennifer! :)

Jennifer was a godsend, booking my dogs for an overnight on incredibly short notice after another sitter had disappeared on me last minute. Both of my dogs are reactive rescues, one of whom doesn't always trust new people upon first acquaintance. Not only was she willing to work with us on short notice (which is understandably difficult for some sitters to do with reactive dogs that they dont know), but both of my dogs took to her and her house almost immediately! By the time I left the dropoff, my human-nervous dog was already snuggling on the couch with her! She was willing to work with their needs, has a ton od experience with nervous dogs, and was incredibly responsive and communicative with me both before and during their stay. If I could give her 15 stars, I would!

Jennifer took such great care of my dog. He was in such a loving environment. He didn’t want to leave her home. I will use Jennifer for all my future pet needs. Highly recommended!

Jennifer was amazing and gave our baby so much love. He was very well taken care of and got comfortable very fast. Thank you Jennifer!

Our big boy had a wonderful stay with Jennifer. It is clear how much she loves dogs and they love her back! I would have complete confidence booking with her again in the future!

Jennifer was amazing! She is very attentive and thoughtful. Chapo absolutely loved his stay.

Schedule
I work full-time about 7 minutes from home. My daughter works an opposite schedule so pets would be alone no more than 4-5 hours at a time. I work from home Fridays and I'm around all weekend. I walk pets twice daily but not when the sidewalk is too hot for my bare feet. I provide enrichment in the form of Kongs with frozen peanut butter, beef bones, high-value treats for basic commands. I typically leave music or tv on low to provide ambient noise while I am out. I have AC for summer time.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
My pets have free rein of the house, and are allowed to access part of the sofa and the beds. Someone needs to let them in/out of house to fenced backyard (no doggie door). I own my home and the yard has rattlesnake-proof fencing.
A typical day
Early to rise! Quick pee outside and start the day with breakie. After my cuppa, we walk the neighborhood for 15 minutes. If work day, I leave music or tv on (nature shows have a nice quiet cadence), and come home for lunch around 1-2 pm. I am typically off at 5pm and back home for afternoon games and/or walk. If it's a weekend, we typically do chores and listen to music, hangout in the backyard, play ball, fetch, or explore the neighborhood. We sometimes take car rides for puppacinos (I have 2 seat belts).

- I think clear communication is critical, so please share info about your little squish pot and feel free to ask me questions. Please don’t start your pet on a new food before boarding, as it causes digestive upset and messy bowels. Happy to stay in contact with videos and photos. Important note: If you have a reactive pet and are requesting him/her to be my sole boarder, there will be an additional $20 per night surcharge.
