Your dog can tell you more than my profile can. That’s why we’ll have an unrushed, no-charge Meet & Greet before I care for your dog. It gives me time to learn their routine, personality, preferences and quirks—and gives your dog time to decide what they think of me, too. Dogs have different personalities, routines and needs, and I believe great care starts with paying attention to the individual in front of me. Care is more than checking off a list—it’s noticing the little things. With 40 years of pet care experience and a background working in veterinary offices and grooming, I’m comfortable caring for dogs with a wide variety of needs, including senior dogs and those with special needs. I have experience administering oral and injected medications, including insulin. I take time to learn each dog’s normal routine, personality and preferences. I pay attention to changes in appetite, behavior, mobility and anything else that may seem unusual. Your instructions matter to me, and I follow them carefully. Communication is also a big part of my care. You’ll receive updates and photos so you can see how your dog is doing and feel connected while you’re away. I want you to have peace of mind knowing your dog is receiving attentive, loving care. Most importantly, I don’t believe care should ever be one-size-fits-all. Some dogs want playtime and attention; others need patience, reassurance or simply someone willing to sit quietly until they feel comfortable. I care for the dog in front of me.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and trust are extremely important to me. I follow your pet’s routine and care instructions closely while treating your home with the same respect I would want for my own. I pay attention to the details—doors and gates are secured, food and water are checked, medications are given as directed, and I keep an eye out for changes in your pet’s behavior or routine. I also consider weather, temperature and walking surfaces when deciding what is safe and appropriate for outdoor time. I believe good pet care also means good communication. I’ll keep you updated on how things are going and let you know about anything I notice. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable and cared for in their familiar environment while you’re away.

Schedule
Pet care is an important part of my daily routine, and I keep my schedule flexible so I can accommodate the individual needs of the pets in my care. I understand that every pet has their own routine, and I do my best to maintain their normal feeding, medication, walk and visit times. I carefully manage my schedule so each pet receives the time and attention they deserve. Whether you need regular weekly visits, occasional walks or care while you’re away, I’ll work with you to create a schedule that fits your pet’s routine.

- Before caring for your pet, I like to learn as much as I can about their normal routine, personality and individual needs. I’ll ask about feeding, medications, favorite activities, habits, fears, hiding spots and anything that helps me understand what is normal for your pet. I also ask for your regular veterinarian, preferred emergency veterinary hospital and emergency contact information so I’m prepared if something unexpected happens. Please let me know about any medical conditions, allergies, behavioral concerns or special instructions. The little details matter. The more I know about your pet ahead of time, the better I can keep their routine familiar and provide the individualized care they’re accustomed to.
