Pet care experience

DogMa takes care of everything!

They call me "DogMa"! and I sit dogs big and small! I started dog sitting in honor of my beloved dog Dodi after he passed away in 2008. He was a Belgian Shepard who enjoyed being a pet therapy dog for seniors. Now I can be your DogMa while you're out of town and can't bring your pets, or while at work and want someone to play with, feed and walk your special family member! I can come to your home or you can have your dog stay at mine. Either way, they will be lovingly cared for as if they were my very own. Hello dog parents! I am an experienced dog sitter covering West Philadelphia including University City, Powelton Village, Wynnefield and Center City West. If you are outside of these areas, that's okay too! I'll be happy to accommodate you and your pet, whether it's overnight boarding at my home or travel sitting that you need. Why I love dog sitting I just love dogs and dogs love me too! They are the perfect companions, don't you agree? I've never met a dog I didn't like. When I had my own dog, I boarded him in two different kennels. Both times he came back extremely distressed, dirty and hungry. He was even sedated once because he was so upset. I vowed that I would never board him again and would help others avoid negative kenneling experiences. My friends started calling me the 'dog whisperer' and because I love dogs so much I decided to start dog sitting so that I could share the love with dogs more often! Meet my pets No other pets. About my yard My backyard is fenced in and is approximately 17'x25'. Outside of the yard is a large communal open grassy area (about 2 acres) so there will be plenty of room to romp and run! My experience administering medication Yes, that's no problem. I've done this before.

Jennifer was great! She sent photo updates and was very patient with my very temperamental dog. I would absolutely book again! From the moment he arrived he felt right at home. It was such a nice experience knowing my dog was well cared for while I was out of the country.

Jennifer has always been a great dog sitter. My dog got sick during the middle of the sitting and she took him to the vet, and administered meds. Made sure he was okay when I was back in town.

Our pup was quite a challenge the first day as she was in a stubborn mood, and Jennifer handled it like a pro. She let us know what happened, consulted us, and then tried a few things until everything was resolved. Whew! Once our Lulu got over herself, things went incredibly well for the rest of the visit. You could tell our pup was happy and enjoying herself in the photos Jennifer shared, and by her demeanor when we came home. We recommend Jennifer highly, as she keeps a cool head when your pup might not, and loves them through it all!

Jennifer cared for our dog for two nights in our home. She took notes and made sure our dog did great with her. She sent us daily updates with multiple photos. We hope to use her service again.

Jennifer is the best dogsitter! Nubia is always excited to stay with her and I know she'll be well taken care of while I'm away. So grateful to have found Jennifer!

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I will walk the dog around the neighborhood, which is residential, and in the open grassy area behind my home shared by five streets in our court. Your dog's sleeping arrangement The dog is welcome to sleep anywhere in the house. I don't allow dogs on the bed, but most either sleep in my bedroom or downstairs to 'protect' the house. Time I'll spend with your dog As much time as possible! I work from home and am only away for an hour or two at a time when I do need to go in to a site. Time I'll spend with your dog I usually spend one hour per visit to make sure the dog is walked, fed, played with and happy before I leave. I can administer medications, and stay longer or overnight if necessary. Extra house-sitting services Sure, just ask. I've been known to put out the trash on trash day :)

I don't have any breed preferences. Prior to sitting your dog, I just need to know what their normal routine is like, and what their favorite commands are. They will be most comfortable if you bring their bed, bowls and toys so that they'll feel at home in my space while you're away.
