Welcome to Cuddles Not Cages, a calm, cat-only boarding experience in Walnut Creek. I’m Jenney, a lifelong cat lover with over 25 years of hands-on experience caring for cats both personally and professionally. Since launching my boarding service in 2020, I’ve cared for cats of all ages and temperaments, with a special focus on shy, senior, and sensitive cats. I also provide attentive, low-stress care for small animals who benefit from a quiet, predictable environment. I offer private, one-household-at-a-time per space boarding in a quiet, dog-free environment. Your pet stays in a peaceful, private space with personalized care tailored to their personality and routine. There is no contact with other animals, including my own cats. Because I'm home most of the day, your cat receives consistent companionship, play, and supervision throughout the day. I send regular photo and video updates so you always feel connected and confident while you’re away. My background includes rescue work and time with local shelters and clinics across the Bay Area, including the SPCA, Joybound, Cat Town, and The Cat Hospital in Campbell. Understanding feline behavior and helping timid cats feel safe is one of my specialties. I’m happy to schedule a virtual tour or video chat to answer any questions.

Jenney was great with communication and took very good care of Dexter. She sent multiple updates and Dexter looked like he had a great time.
Jenney did a great job taking care of my two fluffy kitties - I was particularly nervous after an especially prior horrific petsitting gig that left my poor Mr. Knightley thin, ragged, and traumatized. Thankfully, she has restored my faith that great catsitters do exist - and her cat room was literally like the Ritz Carlton for cats. There were scratch pads, cat towers, window seats, high and low places for cats to relax and feel safe. In all the photos she sent my cats looked relaxed and comfortable, and when I picked them up they were brushed and well fed, as well as still relaxed and comfortable. Peace of mind is worth it! Highly recommended.
I have an old, ornery, very difficult (I think also senile) cat. Lou is super demanding and needs constant attention so I’m always nervous to leave him behind in someone else’s care. I told this to Jenney and she was so accommodating - she sent me videos of her playing with him, giving him treats, and cuddling and petting him. He was purring and looked happy as a clam, really enjoying her company. He had his own room 6 times the size of any cat hotel I’ve used in the past. The videos and text updates really put me at ease while I was on vacation; I felt like he was getting very good care and attention. When I picked him up he was completely relaxed and happy, not remotely stressed which is a miracle for that cat. Next time I go on vacation I feel totally confident and comfortable leaving him with Jenney. Highly recommend!

Schedule
I board full-time and have a flexible schedule that allows me give your kitty plenty of attention throughout the day! They’ll have companionship and attention for an extended period of time like they would at home.

Safety, trust & environment
I board exclusively cats and only one household per space (I have 3 room options). This means your kitty will have their own room to themselves in a quiet, clean environment with plenty of toys and cuddles and room to run around! They'll never been exposed to barking, dog smells or other people's cats.
Pets
A typical day
During the day I check on the cat multiple times to provide social interaction, play, pets, treats, scoop the litter box, ect. I also make sure clean, fresh water is available at all times. I also hang out in the room and watch TV or work for some time each to keep kitty company.

- Before cat sitting, I like to find out a bit about the cat's personality, what they like and don't like, what makes them feel safe and happy. Also want to know about their favorite toy or the type of play they enjoy most as well as any special needs they have.
