Jennette is very professional and shows up on time. She did a great job updating us on weekly walks with my dog.

Jennette provides wonderful detailed reports!

This was my first experience with Rover. I was out of town for a long weekend (Thurs-Sun) because I was in a wedding. I chose Jennette because of her high ratings and the number of reviews that said took great care of dogs during house sits and was very communicative and responsive to messages. I had this booking and a second, longer one scheduled for April. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in Jennette's service because of the amount of time she left the dogs alone and the issues that arose. Beyond that statement, I am going to stick to the facts in my review: I originally was looking for someone for my April trip. I found Jennette on the site and sent her a detailed message explaining that my dogs were rescues, tend to have separation anxiety (one is on medication), and outlining their feeding and walking schedule and asking if that was workable. She said it all seemed fine and we held a meet and greet. She said she worked on weekdays and would be gone from approximately 10am to 3pm for her work shift on weekdays, but otherwise expected to be with the dogs. I said that was ok as long as she left them out right before she left. She said she would provide an update once per day. I booked her for the April dates and, when the wedding came up (it was moved up at the last minute due to the couple's circumstances), booked her for the long weekend. I said in my initial message, at the meet and greet, in the pet profiles, and instructions that the dogs could only be left for 4-5 hours at a time because the smaller one had a history of peeing in the house if she went any longer than that. Thursday - I scheduled the sit to begin before her work shift so that she could come by the house and I could go over everything and show her where everything was just to refresh her on things, since it had been over a month since the initial meet and greet. She arrived on time, we went over things and the schedule again. I also messaged her all the written instructions and schedule. She headed off to work, I left on my trip, and she returned to the house after her shift and sent me a message when she arrived. Friday - in the morning at 10am she sent me a text update saying things were going well and said she was sending a photo. the photo didn't come through. At 10:30pm that night, i messaged to say hey the photo didn't come through and ask how things were going. I did not get a reply. I noticed the ring notifications to my phone showed the last one at 5:30pm, so I checked the camera and saw she she had left at 5:30pm and had not returned. At 11:15pm, I checked again before bed and saw her car still wasn't back in the driveway. I sent a message asking if everything was ok and if she knew when she would be back. She replied saying that she was on her way back and that she not had not expected to be gone this long and it was not planned. She returned at 1am. She sent a photo and said she did not see any accidents, but did not further explain what had happened. upon returning home i checked the cameras fully and saw that she had also left from 11-5, meaning that except for a 30 minute window from 5-5:30 when she stopped by to feed them dinner, the dogs were alone from 11am-1am). Saturday - I do not hear from her all day. At 6:50pm, between the wedding ceremony and reception, I sent her a message asking how it was going. I saw that had a large number of ring notifications, so i again opened up the camera to check to see if her car was there and it was not. The camera showed she had left at 2:20pm. I messaged saying I saw she wasn't there and had left a while ago. I asked what was going on and whether the dogs had received their dinner. I tried calling and it just rang. I waited another half hour but, once the dogs had been alone for more than 5 hours, I called rover because I wasn't sure if she was seeing the messages, given that there had been issues with it earlier in the visit and I was worried after what had happened the night prior. After rover called her, she messaged me saying she was driving, that she was gone for a few hours, and the dogs had gone outside and had food before she left. I asked if that meant she had fed them at 2:30 because that was too early, she said no that she had fed them breakfast late and she knew this time it was planned and she was going to be out for a few hours and she was on her way back and would give dinner then. She said she would be back in 30 minutes. She then said cancel April and "anything i have with you" because she did not think it was going to work out. She then canceled the April sit herself. I said I didn't think so either and the attitude was unfortunate because, as I had paid for house sitting, I expected her to be at the house more than she was away from it and adhere to the schedule that we had discussed and I had grown concerned because she had not communicated or responded to my messages. I said she had not mentioned that she would be gone for long periods on either weekend day and so I was very concerned about them being left for 8 hours and 6 hours, respectively and receiving food and medication off schedule when that was not what we had discussed. She returned to the house at 8:45pm. She sent a message and several photos at that time. She also said, for the first time, that she had a family emergency the previous night but that we never agreed she would be there 24 hours and she hadn't seen any anxiety or bladder control issues or "such things." I said I didn't expect 24 hours/day, I expected her to follow the schedule as we had discussed. And that while I understand unexpected things happen, my issue was that she did not communicate that or try to reach out to me or rover to arrange coverage whenever she did know that she was going to be away for too long. I decided to skip the post-wedding brunch to be able to leave to come home a little earlier than planned (the sit was originally scheduled to end at 1pm) and told her she could go ahead and leave after breakfast. She remained with the dogs for the rest of Saturday night and departed around 9:30am Sunday morning. She did sent a message saying the dogs had been fed and sent a message when she was leaving. She also sent several messages explaining again that she had a family emergency saturday and on sunday decided to alter the schedule because she knew she would be out longer and that she didn't see any anxiety or accidents. she did finally say she was sorry for miscommunication issues. My impression was that the messages were more defensive than sincere. Jennette did appear to follow feeding instructions and left the house clean. Maybe this was a poor experience due to the family emergency, but I am not trying to penalize her with a low rating because of that - it was the length of time she left the dogs, the lack of communication about the emergency or any attempts to see if coverage was possible, the total absence of messages on the following day until i asked rover to reach out, and her immediate reaction to canceling the following sit because of my call to rover that are the reasons for my rating.

We had recently adopted Max from the Senior Dog Sanctuary and knew he had serious separation anxiety. I had upcoming outpatient surgery and needed to find someone to be with Max. I saw Jennette's great reviews on Rover and she accepted our request. She came for a meet and greet with Max ahead of the scheduled surgery date. On the early moring of the surgery Jennette arrived right on time. Max was very happy to see her again and all went well including the surgery. We have already asked Jennette to watch Max again. Max loved Jennette and so do we!
Jennette took great care of our goldendoodle. She texted us updates and pics consistently and followed all of our instructions. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again.

Walked Charlie in such frigid weather! Obvious from her review that she clearly likes Charlie ❤️. That speaks volumes!
