Safety, trust & environment

Safety is my number one priority when it comes to taking care of your animal. I am spatially aware of my surroundings, and always make sure that where I am going or doing is going to be safe for the animal. Before I leave for walks, I make sure that I create a plan for where I am walking and the safest spots are to walk. I always make sure I have my checklist of everything that I need for the walk or need to do while I am at your home. I am also very communicative and responsible when it comes to the instructions, requests, and tasks that my clients have given me.

A typical day

Each animal is so different, and I love to cater to the best of my ability to have your animal be happy, mentally and physically. Walking dogs is one of my favorite activities since it not only gets your animal tired physically, but also mentally. I love to go to parks, watch the water with your animal, and overall just making the experience for your pet enjoyable (whether that is a simple check-in or a walk around your block). When it comes to cats, I love to play games and interact with toys that are around the house.

Pet care experience

Animals are truly a human's best friend. When I received my first dog, Barkley, I truly understood what that meant. He was my world, my best friend. I would do anything and everything for him, even sneak a piece of banana for him for being cute. One of Barkley's favorite things to do was being outside and walking. He taught me so much about myself, that I would love to share Barkley's and my passion for dog-sitting for other dogs and cats in our community. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved being surrounded by animals: teaching them new tricks, going on walks, or simply snuggling up on the couch. When I was younger, I would love to read dog training books and teach my family dogs simple tricks. As I have gotten older, neighbors and family have trusted me to walk, feed, and stay overnight with their animals. I would play with each dog, go on long walks, and even give the occasional ear scratches. I am also a volunteer at the SPCA kitten nursery for about three and a half years now. Most of my experience has been working with younger cats, ranging from 2-20 weeks. With the experience that I have had with my dog and previous clients, I can understand a pets' body language and behavior. I know that a stranger coming to any animal's home can be scary for some of them to understand. I want every pet to feel comfortable, so I will take my time to make any animal feel that they can trust me. I typically like to listen from my client on how their animal handles strangers, that way, I can make the best plan of action to make them comfortable.

Thank you Jenna for taking good care of Jazzy and Linus. They were both sleeping on the bed with full belly’s when I got home. The updates and pictures you sent were very reassuring that they were happy 😻

Jenna was wonderful dog sitter. Maggie loved her gentle demeanor, snuggles, and walk. I felt safe leaving my dog with Jenna. We will definitely use Jenna again next time we are in Davis.
