Just like every sitter on Rover, I'm a responsible, respectful and experienced animal lover and house sitter with a proven track record of excellence both in care and communication. I am very proud of the fact that I have been a sitter on Rover for more than five years, have managed to maintain a 5.0 rating and that all 16 of my testimonials are nothing but positive and full of praise. These facts speak to how seriously I take the responsibilities my clients place in me when they trust me with the safety and nurturing care of their fur family member(s). There are few greater honors upon which I place the highest magnitude and treat with the utmost priority. I choose to offer my services on Rover because I truly respect the strict vetting process and place a lot of faith in the system of sitters as, after multiple years of transacting my services on I find to be one of great fortitude- basically put, whomever you choose on Rover is going to be a sitter of the highest quality or they will be (if they did somehow manage to circumvent the vetting process) removed from the sitting community with great haste. So, if everyone is so great and accommodating and kind and..., and ..., and.. , and- then what sets me apart from my peers? Or, that's what I'd be wondering, at least .... Directly put, I'm at a point in my life where I can be very flexible to special situations whether they be complicated, multi faceted needs or situations for which a sitter would be required extensively to provide physical and emotional support to pets in a time of great anxiety whilst mourning the sepation from their humans. What does all this this fancy humdy dumdy banter actually translate to IRL? (In Real Life). What's it LOOK LIKE? : Whether you are booking last minute, taking a long trip, have a lot or a diverse array of pets, aren't sure how long you will be away, live really far from town or have any combination therein of needs- I encourage you to message me. I'm very flexible and open to working with you to ensure (insure? Each time I Google the proper spelling of said term and each time it still confuses me so please excuse my ignorance, as I assure you that it is not for lack of trying ), the point is I will help you to build and navigate a plan that makes sure you and your pet(s) needs are met without milking the process for every penny possible. A happy latent effect is that, in doing so, I'm able to glean valuable insights specific go being YOUR sitter not just a cookie cutter 'good sitter'. For example, if you're really nervous about leaving your pets then I mentally note to snap photos at every cute or reassuring opportunity which builds a cache of them I can then draw Grom when I send you updates, probably a few more updates than I would some of my other clients who perhaps value those updates just as much but also very much value the one vacay a year they save all their PTO days for, or will be inundated with work. The latter clients will get the same quality of pics and updates of the same magnitude just less frequently so as mot yo over burden their time away. To reiterate, less frequency does not mean the sacrificing if satiating the need to know how one's pets are, it simply is a way to accommodate that client's specific needs. The balance with each client really is an art and nothing pleases me more than the feedback to the tune of "our vacation was so much more enjoyable because we knew our babies were in such capable care..."- Truly the highest of compliments. MY PHILOSOPHY for ensuring [there it is again, insuring(?)] said CAPABLE CARE: Pets need their regular routine(s) maintained to have a feeling of security while their owner(s) is/are away because, of course, it is a really confusing and anxious time. For all the pets placed on my capable hands regardless of my efforts at ear tugs, treats, sweet soothing words, throwing balls and tugging squeaky toys until my arms falls off- I'm not mommy and/or daddy- bottom line. This requires I stay compassionate to the anxiety and confusion felt by my wards by mitigating it as much as possible and a MAJOR way to achieve that is to keep everything that can stay normal in their lives ,well, normal! This means waking and going to bed at their normal times regardless of how early or late, walks when they would normally go for walks on their set routes and for the same amount of time, et cetera. Whether they live for sniffing every leaf located within four blocks of your home, or if they only eat their dog food ,(one of my clients will only eat if hand fed his dog food, but I happily oblige im order to provide the best care) to get that doggie ice cream (that is a thing, I've seen it) or are sustained by a good long nap on a lap- I make sure I know what I can do to provide a little extra comfort for your pet as well for when it DOES become necessary to deviate from their normal routine because the anxiety and confusion just gets to be a little too much. I understand the mentality of " look, you're great, but where the heck is my heccin family Miss Jenn?!?!!"- their anxiety and confusion will peak, it's normal, I expect it and it is ok! Best to be vigilant by monitoring actions and to be prepared prior the the start of the sitting. I think of these as tools in a specific tool box tailored to both pets and humans specifically. Armed with my little blue book of notes, I will be ready to face all the challenges presented when a fur baby is separated from their humans, while still safeguarding your ability to do whatever it is you set out to do that caused said separation. Business, pleasure, whatever. Because every pet is different, I make sure to ask that you leave me any notes you may have and tell or leave any written insights into all things your pet(s). I adore notes, the more the better, seriously. I believe in positive guidance and positive redirection, I don't raise my voice or yell at any creature, instead I strictly believe in aherence to positive approaches. I'm not trying to jinx myself but I have also sat for some "Houdinis" , as referred to by their owners their owners and still I have yet to come anywhere near loosing track of a fur family member while in my care. I welcome pet's of all types: crabs, lizards... I've sat for families with additional animals from birds to reptiles to bugs. Anything that isn't a feline or a canine, though, is gratis. I'm allergic to nickel and diming so outside the confines of Rover's pricing scheme all other companions are free of charge. I've cared for severely special needs animals , elderly pets and pets requiring extensive extra love and various types of attention as well as the administration of various and sometimes numerous medications. In each scenario, I would say and the owners have themselves said that I have executed care successfully in each scenario. So, that's how I operate, a little of what sets me apart from my esteemed colleagues and my philosophy on managing times of separation in loving households with certain family members who can't quite comprehend why things are a little wonky and different during that time. If I can't manage to help with your situation I will be direct about it, I'm nice but I'm direct because, above all, you and your pet deserve the highest level of care so if I do not believe that I am the best fit to provide the best care then I have no issue in admitting that. It's my hope that even if I foresee I'm not the sitter for you that I can at least help point you in the right direction of a better fit. I take great pride in being known to always go the extra mile for my clients and their beloved fur-besties, even when that means suggesting care in which I am not involved in.
