Safety, trust & environment

I'm an experienced handler and trainer, I've worked with dogs in a wide range of environments and pay close attention to what they're comfortable with and what they try to communicate. I care for each dog as if they were my own porky gorl.

Information Jen E. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog is up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. *Do they get along with other dogs??* (If i sit for you in your home I will need to bring my dog along - a very friendly spayed female labrador) Is it ok to take your dog on an outing sometimes instead of a regular walk? I'd like to know what kind of treats and food they are allowed to have, and of course any other diet schedules/restrictions you'd like me to know about. It would also be helpful to know any rules or training that you may be working on so that we can try to maintain consistency while they're away from you.

A typical day

I make sure to facilitate appropriate amounts of activities to accommodate your dog's energy level and make them comfortable - from snuggling and napping on the couch, to engaging play and training, to stimulating "doggy IQ tests" (very fun haha!). Other services like brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, or baths can be arranged - I'm not a groomer, but can take care of the basics with no trouble - as well as care for your other critters (in your home) as I have experience caring for a wide array of pets including farm animals and wildlife rescues.

Pet care experience

**Available for the holidays!!** **For Housesitting: I will most likely need to bring my own dog along with me. She is a very friendly and chill older labrador who is good with other animals of all kinds, and while some pets love having a new friend visit for awhile, not everyone is ok having another dog in their space. Please consider before requesting.** I am an animal lover in general, but dogs will always hold a special place in my heart, as they do for many people. I think that may have began when, a week after I was born, my dad brought home a German Shepherd puppy, who quickly became my protector and best friend for a decade. There have been dogs in my home and in my care ever since then. Besides a lifetime of experience caring for my own (and friends'/family's) dogs, I have completed a yearlong internship working as a trainer/training instructor with a service dog organization. I helped to socialize and train future service and therapy dogs for wounded veterans. In my spare time, I continue to help other trainers care for and train service dogs, pets, as well as search & rescue dogs. I enjoy training and love improving my skills and continuing my education in the field. Dogs truly are amazing animals that can make such a profound difference in peoples' lives. They deserve the best! I would describe my "sitter style" as calm and consistent. I love to get down on the floor to play with them or chase them around the yard, and love the settle-down petting sessions just as much! I love showering pets with affection and treats, but rest assured I have an iron will in the [super cute] face of whining, begging, or jumping. I like to bake simple homemade dog (and cat!) treats, and they are always a big hit! If your dog really loves them, I could even arrange to sell you a batch or two. ;) I have spent time with dogs of just about every size and temperament, and am a devoted, patient, and experienced caregiver.

Jen takes such good care of our dogs and guinea pigs and spoils them rotten! They get so many great treats from her, they get upset when we get back and don't give them as many! She takes great care of the house and leaves everything so clean and neat. I highly recommend her!

Jen was awesome! I was running behind on confirming and she graciously accepted my last-second request. She was generous with her time and treats and photos of my beloved Rio, who loved her! I would recommend her withut hesitation to friends and family!
