Reactive Dog Mom You Can Trust

Compassionate Care for All Pets — With Extra Understanding for Reactive Dogs Having a reactive dog can be tough. I know firsthand how stressful it feels to find a sitter who truly gets it. My husband and I adopted our own reactive pup in 2020, and caring for him has taught me patience, safety, and the power of positive reinforcement. I understand what reactivity looks like, and I take your pet’s fears seriously. From managing safe walks to creating a calm environment, I focus on keeping pets comfortable, loved, and secure. Gaining a reactive dog’s trust is one of the most rewarding parts of this work, and I’ll bring that same empathy to your pup. Of course, I also adore caring for dogs and cats who don’t have behavioral challenges! Whether your pet is shy, playful, or a total couch potato, I’ll meet them where they’re at and make sure they feel safe and cared for. What you can expect from me: - Patience, understanding, and respect for your dog’s boundaries - Knowledge of positive reinforcement and safe handling practices - Open communication and regular updates (yes, lots of photos!) - Loving care for cats and non-reactive pups, too Your pets will be treated as if they were my own - with safety, comfort, and plenty of love.

Due to my own reactive dog, I am unable to offer care in my home. I believe in positive reinforcement and will treat your pup with the compassion and kindness he/she deserves.

Jen was great taking care of our 2 shibas over the thanksgiving weekend! They’re very different so not the easiest to manage but Jen did great - We had lots of pictures throughout the weekend which helped with us missing the dogs and they both took to Jen really well! Thanks Jen and definitely will book again in the future!

Ideally, when I'm with your pets, I like to make sure I'm doing everything I can to keep them happy, healthy, and comfortable by emulating their normal routine to the best of my ability. Depending on my reason for visiting your home, it may be important to know about food (what kind, how much, how often), any medications your pets are taking and when they need to be given, if they need exercise and what kind, and any behavioral habits or issues they may have (aggression, fear, submission, anxiety, etc.).
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
