Availability
I work from home full-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be present throughout the day. Whether your pet needs walks, bathroom breaks, meals, playtime, medication, or simply someone to keep them company, I'm available to provide attentive care. Because I'm home most of the day, your pet won't be left alone for long periods. I make sure to maintain each dog's normal routine so they feel comfortable, relaxed, and at home while you're away.

Information Jeff K. would like to know about your pet
I’d say the most important thing for me to know ahead of time is your pet’s normal routine and any specific care instructions that help them feel comfortable and secure—things like feeding schedule, walk frequency, favorite activities, and any rules you’re working on (like leash manners or not jumping on furniture). It’s also really helpful to know about their personality and behavior: how they do with new people, other dogs, or being left alone for short periods, as well as any triggers, fears, or quirks I should be aware of (loud noises, doorbells, etc.). If your pet has any medical needs, medications, allergies, or mobility considerations, I’ll make sure to follow those carefully. The more I know upfront, the easier it is for me to keep things consistent and make your pet feel as relaxed and at home as possible while you’re away.
A typical day
I’ll tailor activities to each dog’s personality, energy level, and what the owner prefers so they feel comfortable and at home. For more active dogs, I love getting outside for walks, runs, hikes, and play sessions like fetch or tug-of-war, along with plenty of time to explore and burn off energy. For dogs who prefer a slower pace (or just need a little extra care), I’m just as happy keeping them company with relaxed walks, gentle play, window-watching, belly rubs, and lots of snuggles and attention. I’m also mindful of reinforcing any training or routines you’re working on so things stay consistent while you’re away. At the end of the day, it’s really about reading each dog and making sure they feel safe, engaged, and cared for—whether that means a full adventure day or just a calm, cozy hangout.

Pet care experience
While I’m new to Rover, caring for dogs is anything but new to me. I’ve spent years pet sitting for family and friends, caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and needs—from playful puppies and energetic adults to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and attention. I’m comfortable following each owner’s routine, reinforcing training, and making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while their people are away. Dogs have been part of my life since the day I was born, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. My family has always had one or two dogs, giving me a lifetime of hands-on experience with dogs of different breeds, ages, and temperaments. When I was 12, I got my own dog and played an active role in his training. After our older family dog passed away, we welcomed another puppy into the family, and I helped train her as well. She went on to become an AKC Champion show dog and later had a litter of puppies, with my sister keeping one of them. Those experiences taught me the importance of consistency, patience, positive reinforcement, and understanding that every dog has their own unique personality. I’ve also cared for a variety of other pets over the years—including cats, hamsters, fish, a fire-bellied toad, a gecko, a salamander, and a pet newt—so I’m comfortable caring for many different types of animals. The only reason I don’t currently have a dog of my own is because I travel to visit family fairly often—not because I don’t want one! Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I treat every pet as if they were part of my own family.
Reviews
Jeff is a 'dog magnet'! No matter where he is, dogs flock to him. He cares deeply about animals, provides exercise and a safe environment, sends photos, and does everything with our dogs that we would do! He has taken care of our 3 wheaten terriers, our bichon, and our large golden doodle. Jeff is 'the best'! If he has availability, you should have him care for your pets. You will be very glad you did!
I’ve trusted Jeff to watch both of my dogs multiple times, and I can’t recommend him enough. He’s reliable, attentive, and genuinely loves animals. My dogs are always excited to see him, which says everything. He takes the time to make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, and he keeps me updated while I’m away so I never have to wonder how they’re doing. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pets like they’re his own, you won’t find a better sitter. I would trust him with my dogs again without hesitation.
Jeff has been an incredible dog walker for my large dog, Indie. From day one, he's been consistently professional, reliable, and genuinely caring. It's obvious that he has a true love for animals, and Indie absolutely adores him. Jeff is always on time, communicates well, and regularly goes above and beyond to make sure Indie gets the exercise, attention, and care he needs. Knowing my dog is in such capable and compassionate hands gives me complete peace of mind. I couldn't recommend Jeff more highly to anyone looking for a trustworthy, dependable, and exceptional dog walker!
Bluey, my Toy Australian Shepherd, and I absolutely love Jeff! He takes such wonderful care of Bluey, whether it’s for a walk or an overnight stay. Jeff is always on time, sends thoughtful updates with pictures and notes, and has even administered medication when needed. I always feel confident knowing Bluey is in great hands. I highly recommend Jeff — you will not be disappointed!
