Safe, Positive & Professional Care!
SAFETY FIRST: We are incredibly safety conscious. We believe in safety first in the care and handling of your pets; we will not ever take risks with their well-being. We take all necessary safety precautions with how we work with your pets, both inside and outside your home. AVAILABILITY: We recently had two of our pet parents retire and move out of the area. This means we will have two openings for new clients, depending on fit and scheduling. Please contact us for more information regarding availability. *For the health and safety of our current clients, we do not take pets who frequent off leash dog parks or open space doggy daycares. TEAM: We (Jeff and Catherine) work both together as a team as well as independently to ensure your pet care needs are covered. Sometimes a team is more effective in certain situations, such as working with a large number of dogs, with reactive dogs or with pets with significant medical needs. On busier days, we have the flexibility to work independently as well. SERVICE AREA: We do have a route we take each week with our current clients, with our service area being from Woodinville south to I90, and from Kirkland to Redmond and Sammamish. BACKGROUND: We worked in animal welfare for a combined total of nearly 40 years, including dogs, cats, birds, horses and small animals. We have also worked with chickens, donkeys, goats and cows and other farm animals. We have worked with every breed, size, age, behavior and temperament, including directly with animal care, hospice care, handling, training, medical issues, behavior, socialization, coat care, dental care and photography. We have worked with difficult and reactive dogs safely with a number of issues, including resource guarding, separation anxiety, barrier aggression and reactivity on walks. We have a very clear belief in the philosophy of positive training, and we work hard on understanding and working with animals from their point of view. MEDICAL: We are both Pet First Aid and CPR certified and have worked with many types of pet medical care such as giving shots, insulin, fluids, eye drops, ear treatments, bandage changes, medicated baths, dental cleanings, oral and topical medications, treating wounds and hotspots, palliative care and senior care. TRAINING: We are not professional trainers, however, we both have many years of positive training practice, philosophy and classes. We have worked with shelter pets as well as many pet parents - helping them with their own pets to either identify/find the training they need or implement an already established training routine. COMMUNICATION: We communicate with you on your terms and we know every pet parent is different. One photo and one text update? We can do that. 20 photos and several updates throughout the day? We can do that too. Do you prefer a phone call? Absolutely. No messages outside completing the Rover Card? It’s completely up to you. TRANSPARENCY: We believe in 100% transparency and complete honesty with you and with caring for your pet. We want you to be able to trust us with caring for your furry family members and know they are in good hands. And when things are awesome? We’ll tell you. If there are issues? We will let you know and provide suggestions and solutions for fixing the problem. We believe in making sure we are the right fit for you and your pet. We will not take on a new client unless we are sure we can do the best job possible. SCHEDULE: We work seven days per week, 365 days per year. We never take time off at the same time, making sure one of us is always available. We rarely open our Rover profile publicly, preferring instead to add new clients based on client recommendations. We only work through Rover and we have most of our current clients from referrals. For major holidays and school breaks, we often book out up to 6-months in advance. For the rest of the year we typically book out several months in advance. DAY BOARDING ADVENTURES: For our established clients we offer day adventures and group walks with pickup and drop off services. As we hike daily through local parks with our overnight boarding and day boarding dogs, we offer day adventures of 2-4 hours and 4-8 hours depending on our client’s needs and our availability. We also offer the “Disneyland Day” experience which can include hikes, walks, sniffaris, long-line playtime, puzzles, games like recall and find-it, training refreshers, snuffle mats, spa treatments and off-leash time in a private, fully fenced ¾ acre grassy yard. VETERINARY, ACUPUNCTURE AND GROOMING APPOINTMENTS: For our established clients we do offer appointment transportation and attendance services. Also upon request, we consult with our pet parents on what to cover in appointments and bring pets into their established veterinarian. We attend the appointment, take notes and return the pet home after the appointment is over. EMERGENCY BACKUP SERVICES: We both extensively handle all of the animals in our care, which means that we act as each other’s back up in case one of us has an emergency. We also act as emergency backup for several of our pet parents, in case they experience a medical, residential or travel emergency. REFERENCES: If you have specific questions about our skills and capabilities, please let us know. We have many past and present clients who are happy to talk with you if you have general or specific questions about care.

Schedule
New!: We recently had two of our pet parents retire and move out of the area. This means we will have two openings for new clients, depending on fit and scheduling. Please contact us for more information regarding availability. Scheduling: Typically early mornings and later afternoons/evenings are reserved for drop-ins. In the mid-morning through early afternoons we are often out hiking or playing with our day or overnight boarding dogs. We have several pet parents who travel for two-weeks to a month at a time, with boarding or daily visits needed. For major holidays and school breaks, we often book out up to 6-months in advance. For the rest of the year we typically book out several months in advance. Of Note: We work seven days per week, 365 days per year. We are professional, full-time, dedicated sitters. We never take time off at the same time, making sure one of us is always available. We typically do not open our Rover profile publicly, preferring instead to add new clients based on client recommendations. We only work through Rover and we have most of our current clients from referrals.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
This topic is incredibly important to us. We believe in safety first in everything we do. From doggie seat-belts and booster seats, to always having dogs on proper leashes, fully-fenced yards, no unsupervised time in yards, no toxins or harsh chemicals in or around pets, regular deep cleaning between clients, tags on collars and harnesses, no exposure to dangerous weather conditions (excessive heat, ice or high winds etc.), double leashes on dogs with recall issues, harness/leash/collar safety checks, making sure all pets in our care are up-to-date on vaccines and don’t pose health risks to other pets, and being up-to-date ourselves in emergency preparedness (i.e. housesitting during a widespread power outage). We are always working on our safety protocols, and making sure we are as safe as possible with the pets in our care. *For the health and safety of our current clients, we do not take pets who have frequented off leash dog parks, boarding kennels or open space doggy daycares in the two weeks prior to boarding or adventuring with us. For your home care, we always leave a pet’s environment in the best condition we can. We often sweep, mop and scrub floors, clean carpets, wash out litter boxes if needed, take the trash out, scrub water and food dishes with each visit and make sure we do a walk-through of open areas to check for spots or issues. We check the mail, bring in packages and water plants if requested. We encourage cameras for pet parents to be able to check their pets are safe.
A typical day
Our day is entirely dependent on the needs of the pets we care for and the dogs we board. For our able, active pets, we offer day adventures and group walks with pickup and drop off services. We hike every weekday through many local parks with our overnight boarding and day boarding dogs, and we offer day adventures of up 2-4 hours and 4-8 hours depending on our client’s needs and our availability. We also offer the “Disneyland Day” experience which can include hikes, walks, sniffaris, long-line playtime, puzzles, games like recall and find-it, training refreshers, snuffle mats, spa treatments and off-leash time in a private, fully fenced ¾ acre grassy yard. For our senior, less active or medical-board pets, we often accommodate their abilities by either using a doggy-wagon or a pet stroller, so they can still join in the fun, and there’s less stress on them physically. For super seniors or surgical-recovery pets, we further modify their routines by figuring out what they *can* have, like puzzles, snuffles, sniffaris, massages and other non-physically stressful activities.
