Safety, trust & environment

In our home, it would depend on the age and training of the dog. With puppies that are not quite housebroken, I like to keep them on a leash and close to me, with many opportunities to go outside. We would crate a puppy while out of the house. Our dog has the run of the house, so if the visiting dog is well-behaved and they get along, I wouldn't have a problem with just letting them hang out together.

We would love to know anything and everything that you can share about your pet's sleeping and play preferences, comfort needs, eating habits, potty habits, quirks, treats, fears, etc.

A typical day

We would to the park (dog park, if appropriate) to play ball or whatever, go for walks, play with them and give them attention at home.

Pet care experience

As a child, we adopted and I trained my first dog, who I cared for for 10 years before heading off to college. In 2001, I adopted my first dog as an adult, and completed 2 levels of Canine Good Citizen and practiced agility with her. Our current dog (age 10) also completed Canine Good Citizen training with me. Used clicker training with both dogs, and have a teenaged daughter who also loves animals, to help provide company to your pet.

Jeannie did a fantastic job walking my dog when I was unable due to recovery from surgery. She communicated well and was great to work with.

Jeannie and her family were wonderful! They all took the time to meet with me beforehand, to make sure my dog got along with theirs. She was very patient with me, as it took me a while to finalize my travel plans. And then I received daily photos of my girl looking very comfortable and happy, and their old guy being very patient with her rambunctious energy. Jeannie was very communicative and conscientious. I'm so glad I found her, and will definitely be asking her to look after my dog again. Highly recommend!
