Experienced care taker of dogs, cats, birds, bunnies and horses! Have worked extensively with rescue animals who may have different physical or mental challenges based on prior experiences including giving medicine or dealing with nervous/anxious animals. I believe in positive reinforcement and being patient with an animal and their comfort level. I also have taken emergency first aid classes for dogs. I work from home Fridays and am 10 min from the house when I am at the architecture office M-Th for lunch time walks and check ins if needed. Fully available on the weekend to be home with the pets or take them to a nearby dog park or walking trails in Rock Creek Park. I do have plans that will occasionally take me out of the house for a few hours at a time but am flexible about working with your schedule for your pet to the best of my ability. I'm willing to rearrange my schedule in most cases to be able to provide the best care for your pet. In my own home, I have a two story house with a 3 year old retriever/lab rescue dog that can be a friend to play with or separated by a gate at the stair, and a large fenced yard right up against Rock Creek park with near a dog park. We have plenty of dog beds and toys and happy to use a crate or not depending on what your pet feels most comfortable with. If I stay in a client's home, I like to keep things tidy and keep the pets as comfortable as possible and as close to their normal routine as possible.
