I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life—dogs, cats, horses, and even reptiles at one point. Growing up in Canada, I developed a deep passion for animal care and welfare, which led me to work as an officer for the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) during my university years. This role allowed me to rescue animals in need, provide them with care and support, and find them loving forever homes. It was incredibly rewarding to gain their trust during some of the most stressful times in their lives. I’ve also been a foster parent for the Mira Foundation, an organization dedicated to training seeing-eye and assistance dogs. As a foster, I cared for and provided basic training to young puppies, preparing them for the advanced training they’d need to support individuals with disabilities. This role required me to take the puppies everywhere—to work, restaurants, grocery stores, and more—ensuring they were well-socialized and comfortable in various environments. Currently, I’m a professional horse trainer, working daily with young and nervous horses. My job involves building trust and respect, which requires me to project calm confidence and interpret their body language effectively. These skills translate well to all animals, as I deeply understand the importance of patience, empathy, and consistency. I also care for cats, including my own at the stables and those belonging to friends when they’re away. Whether it’s dogs, cats, or other pets, I bring the same level of dedication and care to every animal I work with.
