Experienced Retiree w/lots of time
After 30 years in the public service, I retired and took several courses in the Algonquin College Veterinary Technical Program. We no longer have our own dog due to our winters away. However, I love to walk and board dogs. I enjoy meeting new canine personalities and learning how to adjust to their needs. I am certified by the Fear Free Program as well as by the St. John Ambulance for Pet First Aid. I aim to provide a calm, low stress environment for your pet. Your dog will enjoy enrichment activities such as long walks, off leash backyard time, and food puzzles. I use scientifically sound, reward-based methods that positively affect not only the animal’s behavior, but also the underlying emotional state. My schedule is very flexible; I currently do not have any commitments that would impact my ability to spend quality time with your dog. I am also flexible if there are cancellations. I have a fully fenced yard that measures approximately 18 metres wide by 10 metres deep. My husband and I live in a quiet neighbourhood that is close the the Experimental Farm where there are many places for wonderful walks. I will not take your dog to a dog park. I will not introduce your dog to new dogs while I am walking them. I will ensure that their stay is stress free with a lot of outdoor time and a calm environment. Please note that I usually have a few daycare clients as well as one or two boarders at a time, so dogs will need to be comfortable socializing with other, small and medium sized dogs. For housesitting, I am usually only available on weekends because I have daycare clients. However, I have been known to be enticed for longer stays by a pool or proximity to waterfront or forest.

I would highly recommend Jean. I’ve used her a couple of times for longer trips, and it’s a huge comfort knowing Watson is well cared for. She is very responsive and sends regular updates, which gives me great peace of mind. I would happily book with her again.
Jean provided an amazing second home for Arty for the weekend! He got backyard plays, he got walks and he got lots of cuddles! Jean was a great communicator and sent lovely photos and videos. She is very kind and reliable. 100% recommend!
This was the second time we left our fur babies with Jean. She took very good care of them over three days. Her yard is perfect for doggy playtime and she also took them for walks. She sent us multiple videos and photos throughout the weekend. The dogs enjoyed their time with her and we will not hesitate to use her services again.
Teddy had his second daycare visit with Jean and got to meet a couple of dogs. Jean is always careful with introductions and makes sure everyone has a positive experience. Teddy came home happy, exercised, and relaxed.

Ein typischer Tag
I love stimulating dogs mentally and physically. In addition to long walks, there is room to play fetch in our backyard. If desired, I can also reinforce training to sit and stay on command using treats. I have dog puzzles, snuffle maps, kongs as well as stuffies and balls that provide stimulating activities for your best friend. If your dog would like to have a doggie playmate, I am able to bring a well trained dog from those that I walk regularly to our backyard so that they can get the social time they need. I will not take your dog to a dog park. I will not introduce your dog to new dogs while I am walking them.
