Think of me as a Mary Poppins for your fur babies. To me, this job is less about “sitting” for the dog and/or cat and more about nannying them. In other words, giving the dogs, cats and any other pets lots of time and attention, making sure they are happy and healthy, and loving them! Like any good nanny, I come with considerable experience. I’ve had dogs, cats and many kinds of pets in my life since I was five. I also worked as a pet store manager for three years, where we sold a lot of puppies! I worked closely with veterinarians to keep my store puppies happy and healthy. As a pet product representative for seven years, I learned even more about pets. I volunteered with pet-adoption centers in Oregon. I also have extensive experience with exotic pets such as birds, reptiles, small rodents and fish. I grew up with horses, had two of my own, so I can also take care of your hoofed babies. At present, I am retired, meaning I have plenty of time to give your dog and/or cat! In my spare time, I enjoy walking and hiking—a dog is a great companion for these outdoor adventures. I insist upon a meet-and-greet in advance because it’s so important to see how much your dog and/or cat likes me. During a meet-and-greet, I’ll meet you and get to know more about your dog’s and/or cat's history. I’ll have lots of questions about how to best care for your pets. I’ll keep your pets on a schedule as close to what they’re used to as possible. We’ll play with their favorite toys. They can sleep with me and will get a lot of snuggles and pets from me. You’ll always know what we’re up to, as I’ll send photos of our daily activities and updates on how we’re doing. I do have two kitties of my own, so I will need to check in on them at least every two days. I live in a small apartment so can only take care of small pets at my home. At your home, I will exercise them as needed and make sure they are happy and healthy.
