Pet care experience

Vet tech student /animal lover 💓

Hi! My name is Jayla, and caring for animals is both my profession and my passion. I have over six years of pet sitting experience, nearly four years of hands-on experience working in a veterinary clinic, and I am currently in my second year of Veterinary Technician school. My veterinary background allows me to provide a level of care and attention that goes beyond traditional pet sitting. I am experienced with pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, including puppies, senior pets, anxious or fearful animals, and pets with medical needs. I am comfortable administering medications, including oral medications and injections, monitoring for signs of illness or discomfort, and following detailed care instructions to help maintain your pet’s routine. Working in a veterinary setting has taught me how important trust, patience, and individualized care are for every animal. Whether your pet loves playtime and adventure or prefers a calm and predictable routine, I will make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family members. My goal is to provide reliable, compassionate care and give you peace of mind through regular updates, photos, and open communication throughout your pet’s stay or visit. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and treating them like my own!

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I currently only offer pet care services in the client’s home, where pets are most comfortable and secure in their familiar surroundings. My priority is to keep their routine as consistent as possible, including feeding times, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and bedtime rituals. With my background as a veterinary assistant and over 4 years of pet sitting experience, I’m especially confident caring for senior pets and those who need a little extra attention. I have experience administering medications—including oral meds, injections, and topical treatments—on a schedule, and always monitor pets closely for any signs of discomfort or changes in behavior. I take the time to learn each pet’s individual needs, personality, and preferences so I can provide safe, loving, and personalized care. I also treat every client’s home with the utmost respect and professionalism.

Schedule

Pet care is a natural part of my everyday life—both personally and professionally. I work full-time as a veterinary assistant, so I spend my days caring for animals with compassion and attention to detail. While I am away for about 6-7 hours during the weekday, I schedule my pet care services around my work hours to provide reliable potty breaks, feedings, medication administration, and check-ins as needed. I’m also fully available on weekends, which allows for more flexible scheduling, longer visits, or extra playtime and attention when your pet needs it most.

Before caring for any pet, I like to learn as much as I can to provide the best possible care. Some important things to know ahead of time include: • Daily routine (feeding times, potty schedule, walks, etc.) • Medical history or conditions, including any medications and how they’re administered • Behavioral traits (e.g., fear of storms, separation anxiety, aggression triggers) • Social preferences—do they like other pets, people, or prefer quiet time? • Favorite toys, activities, or calming techniques • Any allergies, sensitivities, or dietary restrictions • House rules (like furniture restrictions or crate training) The more I know, the better I can personalize their care and keep them happy, healthy, and safe while you’re away!
