I have been a pet-parent for about five years. I have a family of four/five, depending upon the time of the year. I live with my husband and of the two kids, one of whom lives out of town, and visits periodically. Same with my mom. We have a Covid-pup, Biscuit, who is a Shihpoo (Mom’s a Shihtzu and dad a toy poodle). I love him to bits, as do the rest of my family members. Like all pet-parents, my perspective about a dog completely changed after I brought Biscuit home. I like to take long walks with him, weather permitting and hangout with him in the backyard in the evenings, or just laze around indoors. Both my husband and I love to travel with the family and have often taken Biscuit along for holidays and vacations. But (sigh) sometimes, Biscuit just cannot join us. And those are the times when we look for a dependable sitter and a happy place for him. We are lucky to have found great sitters through River, and I would love to offer our home and our company to other pups when their parents have to be away. I have helped watch my neighbors pups now and then. I absolutely enjoy the company of dogs, and so does my very friendly pup! Being a pet-sitter is also a great way for us to have a playmate for Biscuit. So, whether it is for a day or the weekend, I hope to be of help to anyone who is looking for a caring and friendly place for their dogs!

Jaya is so wonderful w/ my 7 yr old Barley. She is reliable and I feel such a peace of mind while away from home without my pup. She is also easy going & flexible (my sister had to drop the dog off at Jaya’s house bc we split pet sitting up over our 2 wks away between Jaya & my sis - she was very accommodating - also my plane was delayed a half hour and she was understanding and helpful). Thank you so much Jaya!
Jaya is a star sitter! She took care of Prince like her own and provided us with continuous updates and shared lot of pictures. Will definitely board Prince again in future!!
I can’t say enough about Jaya & her family taking care of my dog Barley like he was one of theirs. She was quick w/ responding, and her communication was thorough. Barley loved his “sleep over” playing w/ Jaya’s cute pup Biscuit in her big back yard. She made me feel like Barley was safe & would be cared for just like her own. We’ll surely be hoping she is available again for our next pet sitting need. Thank you Jaya !
I have known Jaya for several years, she is a trusted neighbor and friend. She is great with all dogs, she has helped me with my three dogs and is always on time and responsible. I have no reservations about giving Jaya access to my house. Jaya is an avid walker, her pup is well cared for and is walked daily. I highly recommend Jaya as a pet caregiver.
Jaya absolutely loves her dog Biscuit, and provides him with the best care, and I know she would with yours as well. Jaya is great with communication so you’ll know your pet is well cared for. She’s friendly & my dogs love her. Biscuit gets along with every dog I’ve seen him interact with, and will do a stellar job helping her!

Schedule
I work full time as a college professor. So I am mostly available during the weekends. However, during summer and over the other school breaks, I will have availability during the weekdays too.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a home with fully fenced backyard. The pups are free to run around or hangout on our deck or indoors. They will be let out every two hours for potty breaks and playtime. Leashed walk will be offered once a day, usually in the evenings as long as the pup-parents are ok with that.
Pets
A typical day
Backyard time. Playing fetch, providing interactive playtime with our dog. Chew and relax with a bone or an antler. I prefer not to have plastic chew toys due to harm from microplastics. Dog-walks will be provided on safe neighborhood trails (as long as pet parent is ok).
