I've grown up with dogs my whole life and had a mini dachshund for 15 years. Over the last decade I've been called on numerous times to watch and board dogs for friends, family and neighbors.

Jay recently watched my dog, Fergus, while my husband and I were out of town. I appreciated the time he took to talk to us about our Fergus before hand. He wanted to ensure he would be able to provide the best care. Which he did! He told us his plans for caretaking at drop off and gave us updates while we were gone. Our dog is nervous around strangers but Jay strived to make him feel at home.

Jay and his family were great caretakers for our dog! He was communicative with us and was understanding of Joaquin. I loved that he got some cuddle time with Jay’s kiddo and could really relax with them over the holiday.

Schedule
I am a single dad who has custody of my kids 50/50 so when I don't have them I could give a dog my full attention and be its buddy! On weekends we could hit a trail or go for a long walk at a park. Monday through Friday I usually leave for work around 6:45 or 7, and will return home around 4 pm. And in the evening we'll hang out and have fun!

I live within walking distances to a few parks for walks. The Trolley Trail is nearby too if your pet likes a bit of a longer walk.

It is hard to describe a typical day, but I will follow the habits and schedule that the owner lays out for me as close as it can be matched to mine.

- I like to give dogs the benefit of the doubt and let them roam if they can be trusted, but once they have an accident in the house they will have to be crated when I'm gone. I have been told too many times that a dog won't do this and then I find #2s waiting for me when I get home.
