Safety, trust & environment

Coming from Alaska where people don’t leash or watch their dogs, I know how to avoid stressful situations that may occur on a walk. Your dog will always be leashed with said leash securely attached to my person. To avoid possible confrontations I change routes when other dogs are coming, I also walk in low traffic areas. I would prefer to use a harness if possible with your pup. I’ll take the utmost care to ensure your dogs safety, my focus being on the surrounding environment and your dog.

Information Jay J. would like to know about your pet

Let me know any dietary restrictions/allergies your dog may have as I do use treats to reinforce positive behaviors (I also use positive affirmations and affection to validate good behavior) Also let me know if your dog has any triggers such as loud noises, other dogs, resource guarding aggression, etc.

A typical day

I love teaching dogs tricks and watching the gears in their head turn as they learn. I know a handful of puzzles and games to keep your pup entertained.

Affordable dog walking & pet care

Pet care experience

I’ve had dogs of all ages my whole life, from 10lbs to 100lbs. Not too long ago a special dog woke my passion for dog walking. The credit goes to a handsome 108lb boxer, my dad’s dog Big Mac. He’s my best friend back in Alaska whom I used to go walking with for 1-3 hours a day. At the start Mac was hardly leashed trained and an awful listener. However his enthusiasm and eagerness to learn encouraged me to continue working with him. I’d walk him every day reinforcing leash training and reactivity management, it was incredibly rewarding for me to witness how well behaved he’d become. That was when I realized that helping a dog develop a sense of security, and the skills needed to navigate life is a passion for me that I want to continue pursuing. I believe in the use of positive reinforcement methods to help guide the dogs I work with so we can both feel confident and have fun getting exercise. I believe showing understanding and patience when working with dogs is key. In the future I plan to go to school to become an animal behaviorist and trainer, but for now I’d really love to walk your dog.

Wow! Jay did an awesome job! Our dogs are pretty active and Jay kept them entertained all week with walks and fetch. They also gave us regular updates about the dogs (which we prefer) and it helped keep our minds at ease while out of town. Jay also left our apartment better than we left it! We look forward to having Jay dog sit for us in the future :) Thanks, Jay!

Jay has been so communicative about how my little kitty Charlie is doing while I am out of state. Jay always sends photos and went above and beyond when we thought the automatic cat feeder wasn’t working. 100% will be booking again :)
