Hayes Valley Dog Lover & Walker
I am an SF native who grew up loving my Crocker Spaniel and Beagle dogs. Now in Hayes Valley, I love all the dogs in my building and neighborhood! I enjoy getting to know and bonding with a dog, whether loud/social, quiet or delicate, and being attentive to their needs. I live in best dog walking area, and have walked dogs for 4+ years. I don't consider this a job since I love doing it; one day I plan to adopt a pup of my own! Here in SF, I work remotely as a video editor. My studio and building are very open and dog-friendly, as are the nearby parks and spaces. I work mostly from home, where I live with my partner, Wei. Also, I only care for 1 dog at a time, but can look after 2 dogs if they both belong to you. I look forward to getting to know your best little friend, taking them on a walk and caring for them. Jason was very sensitive to Ember’s skittishness and helped her get comfortable with him and his apartment. He checked in for tips and ideas when she hadn’t gone pee or poo for a whole day. I think I could have requested more updates since I was worried.
Jason took Zumi for the day and I think she had a great time. Sometimes she can be stressed in new environments with new street noises but when I picked her she was calm and seemed like she had a great day. Grateful that Jason was available last minute for a booking!
Jason was a great help and companion for my pup for a week and a half trip! He gave periodic updates and she came home happy! Would definitely book with him again!

Jason went above and beyond trying to get my dog for a walk when she would not let him approach when I wasn't at home
Jason did a wonderful job at looking after Darcy, especially with it being a short notice request. I really appreciated the photo and message updates, it made me feel confident that Darcy was in safe hands. I would totally recommend and book again.

Schedule
I love having a dog around because it allows me to take desk breaks and go on longer walks. I typically do a short walk in the morning, longer walk in the afternoon, and 1-2 walks/bathroom breaks at night. Playtime in the studio is also a fun distraction, and sometimes dogs love to run up and down the 4th floor hallway.

Safety, trust & environment
I focus on helping your dog adjust to the new space with a different human (me). Familiar items like toys, beds, treats, or even an item with your scent (shirt) helps dogs with this process. In general, dogs like to sniff everything in the apartment, start out the window, sit on the couch or underneath my desk, and lay in random spots on the wooden floor. For dogs that have trouble with stairs, my building has an elevator. There are a couple other (friendly) dogs in the building, though we rarely run into them. Along walks, I remain especially vigilant with dogs that like to pick up food or other items from the streets. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns about environment.
A typical day
In my studio space, dogs love to stare out the window, lay on the couch or just wander around sniffing. I focus on helping your dog feel comfortable as they could be, so please let me know their favorite activities, toys or treats :) I enjoy taking them out on walks along Hayes Valley.
