Communication issues

3.5 stars. I hired Jasmine to housesit and watch several pets. Our household is divided into two separate dwellings, with my side containing 6 pets (3 cats, 2 ferrets, and a dog) and 4 cats living next door. Jasmine was hired for pet care for all 10 pets plus a couple of other small household duties. We were to be gone for 3.5 days - from a Wednesday afternoon through Saturday. The main problem was Wednesday afternoon. Even though the afternoon was part of the booking period (and the fee), Jasmine didn't arrive until evening. According to Jasmine, she had another customer that didn't pick up their pets on time. While I sympathize with her dilemma, that left my pets uncared for. She was hours late on my dog's afternoon walk and also late with feeding my dog and cats (my cats are not free fed). Even worse - she did not notify me of this delay. It wasn't until I debarked from my plane after 6 pm that I looked on our outdoor camera feed and noticed that her car wasn't in the parking lot. I messaged Jasmine, which is when she told me about the delay. I became quite stressed about my pets then. My dog spending hours in his crate with no afternoon walk, cats and dog not fed. When Jasmine finally did get there, she was only there for about half an hour and then left again for another couple of hours. I was very upset and messaged Jasmine my concerns. I even considered calling in a neighbor to help. Jasmine promised to spend more time with the pets for the remaining 3 days. That seemed to go OK, as her car was parked at our house for longer time periods. And the pets seemed fine upon our return. Water bowls mostly full, litter pans in good shape, food in bowls for those animals which are free fed. Jasmine was always polite in her messages to me, even when I was upset. She was also very nice when I met her in person for the initial meetup. That being said, I would not hire her again - the trust is just not there. She not only did not let me know about her very late arrival Wednesday evening, she was also very sparse with any communications. I had to send her specific messages to get any update on how the pets were doing.

Jasmine was great! First she saved me with my last minute booking. She was very communicative and followed all directions. Bleu is a big boy and she handled him very well. Definitely my new dog walker. Thanks Jasmine!
