Pet care experience

Pre-vet student who loves animals

I’ve been a go-to pet sitter for many family members, friends, and neighbors since I was 11, so I’ve had a lot of experience with different animals. I have pet-sat dogs ranging from puppy to senior, and have taken care of cats who ranged in age and tameness (one of which was a former feral). I’m capable of doing basic obedience training (sit, come, lay down, shake) with dogs and can even give it a try with cats (results may vary). The silly dog in my profile picture is my own 14-year-old chihuahua named Lupe, who has needed twice daily heart meds for 2 years now. As such, I’m well-versed in giving medication to pets (pills, other oral medications, ear drops, etc.) and have experience giving eye drops to both dogs and cats. I also volunteer at my local animal shelter cleaning kennels and playing with the cats and dogs (typically large ones) for their enrichment and exercise. I really enjoy interacting with the animals and getting to know their personalities and preferences, as each one is different! My profile even has pictures of a few of the dogs and cats I’ve worked with at the shelter. As training for my shelter work, I’ve even taken a course emphasizing “fear-free handling”, which focuses on paying close attention to the body language of animals and making stressful experiences in shelter life much more manageable for them. As such, I am comfortable reading both cat and dog body language and knowing how and when to reduce their stress. My dream is to become a veterinarian and use my passion for animals, and all that it has helped me learn, to help them :)

House Sitting • Nov 27, 2025

Absolutely outstanding care of my young rescue. Jasmine took the time to come to my home before the actual sitting date to ensure it would be easier on my dog when staying with a new person. Jasmine stayed for close to an hour until my dog calmed down and engaged in play with her. She brought her own treats. My dog adores her and I will definitely request Jasmine in the future.

Jasmine was an incredibly thoughtful and careful pet sitter, exactly who you would want watching your precious kitties! She took on the task of watching my three cats for 4 weeks while I went on a remote retreat to the Himalayan mountains. Since I didn't have consistent cell service, knowing my cats were being watched by someone so reliable gave me the peace of mind to enjoy my trip. She came over daily and made sure they were well-fed and tended to, staying extra time to play with them and pet them. Sprite, Cocoa, and Butch loved her, and I was really impressed given they had not met her before. She has a natural, calm way with animals- all three cats warmed up to her immediately, she was very consistent in visiting and keeping their litter box well-maintained. She pays attention to detail and was able to keep up with their individual medication routines too (not easy)! We were lucky to find her and I will definitely be hiring her again for my next trip!

Jasmine is absolutely wonderful! She has been my number 1 trusted dog sitter going on 4 years now. She is reliable, communicative, and extremely knowledgeable (she’s studying to be a veterinarian!) She is also very caring, and takes care of my dog Fuzz as if he were her own. He literally jumps for joy whenever he sees her, I don’t know who loves her more me or him! If you want your fur baby in good hands, Jasmine is your gal :)

Calendar and availability

Schedule

While I am a full-time undergrad student, Rover is my main job, so I’ll have plenty of time and energy to dedicate to making sure your furry friends are safe and happy!

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I plan to follow whatever schedule your pet is used to when pet sitting as animals find security in routine. If a schedule isn’t provided I will be sure to ask what your pet’s typical day looks like so that I can follow their routine as best as possible. Cleanliness is of course an important part of caring for pets, so I typically like to change water out daily and rinse both the food and water bowls at least once a day. For walks, picking up after dogs and disposing of it into outdoor trashcans is a no-brainer for me. For litter boxes, I’ll make sure to scoop daily as it’s important for kitty’s health and happiness. Any accidents in the house will also be cleaned daily.

Pets

A typical day

Keeping pets from getting bored and having too much pent up energy is very important, especially for those whose humans are away for a bit. I plan to play with your pets and make sure they have lots of fun to get their energy out with games like fetch, tug, and chase. To keep their minds exercised, I also play games of “find the treat”, which makes them use their noses to get their reward, whether it’s hidden in a rolled up towel, an enrichment puzzle, or in a snuffle mat. Cats are included in this fun! If they enjoy playing, I’ll get them engaged and entertained. For high-energy pets, I can incorporate basic training into play to get their minds working and tire them out more if you let me know beforehand.
