I have three Shih-poo dogs, one male and two females. Over the past six years, I have learned a great deal about pet care and have dedicated plenty of time to researching how to properly care for my animals. I have saved a lot of money by caring for them myself, including grooming, training, exercising, and providing day-to-day care. I have had my dogs since they were puppies, and my oldest dog became pregnant and had two puppies, which I helped deliver. This gave me firsthand experience caring for pregnant dogs, newborn puppies, and sick animals. I have also had two cats for the past year and have gained experience caring for cats and their individual needs. I have also helped care for a litter of four kittens, giving me additional hands-on experience with young cats and understanding their behaviors, feeding, hygiene, and overall care. I have also aided family and friends in caring for their pets by staying overnight, sometimes for over a week, as well as grooming, exercising, training, and providing general care for their animals. I interned at an animal shelter for a few months, where I gained valuable experience working with both dogs and cats. I had the opportunity to care for and observe all kinds of animals, including sick and elderly pets, energetic animals, fearful animals, puppies and kittens, somewhat aggressive animals, and animals who had previously been abused or neglected. Through this experience, I learned how important patience, compassion, and understanding are when approaching animals with different personalities, needs, and behavioral patterns. I have developed a strong understanding of animal behavior and know how to approach and care for pets in a way that makes them feel safe, comfortable, and loved.
