Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine. I naturally build my days around feeding, walks, playtime, downtime, and lots of affection so pets feel comfortable and at ease. I’ve cared for my 10-year-old Maltipoo since she was a puppy, which has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and gentle care. I’m generally available Monday through Saturday and make sure every pet feels loved and cared for during my time with them!

I care for pets in my clients’ homes by following their routines and instructions closely to make sure each pet feels safe and comfortable. If medications are needed, I make sure they are given properly and on time. I also ensure pets get appropriate exercise, whether indoors or outdoors, and provide attentive supervision at all times. My goal is to create a safe, positive experience for both the pet and their owner. I’m always happy to share photos and/or video updates while I’m there so owners can feel at ease!

A typical day
The activities I do depend on each pet, since some have higher energy levels while others may be skittish or have less energy. For the most part, I would play tug-of-war, fetch, and introduce them with puzzle toys for mental enrichment! With the owner’s permission, I’m happy to provide toys that match the dog’s preferences. I also make sure to include calm bonding and cuddle time, as long as the pet is comfortable!

I’m a first-year college student exploring nursing or veterinary medicine, and animal care has always been a big part of my life. I’ve been volunteering at VCAS for almost a year, where I’ve learned proper handling techniques, safety procedures, and how to care for cats, dogs, and small animals like bunnies. I also have several years of experience helping care for my neighbors’ pets, including feeding, walking, and providing companionship. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable working with pets of different temperaments, always prioritizing their safety and comfort.
