Safety, trust & environment

Littering, feeding, playing, grooming, cleaning, cuddling, loving! I am also able to pill and crate the trickiest of kitties - Mink and the shelter cats have taught me well. Photos will always be included while you're away. I know first-hand how much of a comfort they can be when you're missing them! Overnight housesitting also an option.

Information Jasmine B. would like to know about your pet

Although these are all things I'm used to figuring out on my own, it's helpful to know a bit about your cat's personality, likes, and potential triggers ahead of time. Also of course, whether they require daily medication/other needs to be addressed!

A typical day

At home, I wake up to my cat sleeping on my chest or at my feet. When I get up, she runs right to her food bowl (which, no surprise, still has kibble in it). After checking on the garden, I'm greeted by screaming if I haven't brought her back the highly regarded gift of a kale or dandelion leaf. Shortly after breakfast is a quick 10 minute playtime, followed by lots of cuddles throughout the day, and more playtime/cuddles in the evening. At the shelter, my priority when I arrive is getting the cats fed and making notes/changes to advocate for their wellbeing. Once the essentials are covered, it's play and cuddle time (my favourite time) until I need to leave!

Pet care experience

I am privileged to have been able to care for cats of all ages, temperaments, and needs. This includes energetic kittens, senior cats, confident social butterflies, and shy or “spicy” cats who need a little extra patience and understanding. My experience comes from nearly a decade with my own shy and "spicy" cat, Mink, as well as my role as a Team Lead at a compassionate no-kill cat shelter in Barrie, ON. I rescued Mink at just 8 weeks old from a home where she was unfortunately bullied by other animals. As my first-ever cat, she really threw me into the deep end! I am forever grateful to have learned off the bat from her the importance of patience, boundaries, and trust-building with cats. Despite Mink now thriving as a spoiled only child, I still felt I had more love to give, which brought me to my work at the shelter. Through my role as a Team Lead there, I’ve been so very lucky to work hands-on with hundreds of cats, especially during what can be one of the most stressful times in their lives. I've bonded with playful kittens learning socialization, senior cats needing gentler care and extra comfort, overweight cats on monitored feeding routines, nervous cats who prefer space and quiet companionship, and outgoing cats who want all the attention they can get. My approach is based on patience and understanding, and is always customized to each individual cat’s personality and needs. Whether your cat needs playtime, medication, patience, routine, a little extra help grooming, or simply a calm and reliable presence while you’re away, I will care for them in the way that keeps them most comfortable and happy until you're home.

Jasmine is an incredible pet sitter! She took amazing care of our kitties and always kept us well updated. We felt very comfortable leaving our girls with her - it is abundantly clear how much she loves and cares for animals. She followed all of our care instructions perfectly and went above and beyond in many ways. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and kind pet sitter:)

Jasmine is an exceptional pet caregiver who I would happily recommend for your pet sitting needs. She is patient, detail-oriented, and extremely caring towards animals. I work alongside her at a local cat shelter. I have seen the love, care, and attentiveness she gives to all the cats in our care. She is reliable, hard working, and also has great people skills. She provides friendly and great customer service skills when interacting with anyone who comes to visit the shelter. If you need someone to take care of your pets I would definitely recommend her!

J is such a loving & attentive pet caregiver! She adapts to any needs a cat may have while working at a local nonprofit cat shelter - making sure to pay close attention to special foods each cat may need, keeping track of any irregular behaviour, and treating each cat with love and compassion, regardless of the cats' history. A more loving pet caregiver couldn't be found!
