Peaceful Mini-Vacation For Your Pet

I've spent my entire life around dogs, from having family dogs as a kid to having dogs of my own. I started watching dogs in 2009 for some of the clients I had through my fitness business. I understand that dogs have their own unique personalities, and I do my best to accommodate their needs to make them feel comfortable. Fitness is a big part of my life, so dogs will get good exercise when they hang out with me. I don't take boarding dogs on walks, but they get plenty of exercise throughout the day in the fenced-in yard. Over the years, I have cared for dogs, cats, fish, birds, and turtles. I have experience with puppies, old dogs with hip issues and incontinence, high-energy dogs, and dogs with arthritis. If you're looking for house sitting (in your home) or dog walking, please feel free to get in touch. I can send you links to some great sitters who offer these services through Rover.

When my 13 month old dog needed a place to board, I was nervous to leave him. I found Jared on Rover and found him to be responsive to questions and asked thoughtful ones about what my pet was like. We also had a "meet and greet" for myself and my pet. During the stay, Jared gave both written and video updates routinely. I will not hesitate to use Jared to board my dog in the future and am very grateful for the care he gave.

Schedule

JUNE 2026 UPDATE Most dates in June are already full for boarding and day care, but please don't hesitate to reach out to me anyway as there may be cancellations. I do pet care full time now, so I'm almost always available to watch pets (sometimes spots fill up quickly though). I typically have at least 5 dogs with me each day for daycare/boarding, so it might be difficult for me to do drop-in visits on certain days. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me even if I'm listed as "unavailable" on a particular date as I try my best to accommodate additional dogs when possible.

Safety, trust & environment

A portion of my yard is fenced-in, so the dogs can run around and play freely while we're out there. I have plenty of dog beds, food/water bowls, and toys, so if you could please just bring their leash and their food, they should be all set. We go outside for pee breaks every couple of hours, and I'm always out there with them to supervise.

A typical day

Here's a list of activities your dog can participate in during his/her stay: - Excavating imaginary treasure in the yard - Energized fetch sessions with an assortment of sticks and balls - Observing crafty turkeys, deer, and chipmunks from the deck - Bird/squirrel watching by the feeder - Intense battles of tug-of-war - Lots of pets and attention

Here are some of the most important questions I'll ask ahead of time: • Does your dog get along well with other dogs? I typically have other dogs with me during the day for day care and boarding. If your dog does not get along well with other dogs, unfortunately I might not be able to watch him/her. I can separate dogs when necessary (for example, when it comes to feeding them or when it's time to take a break from playing), but I'm unable to accommodate dogs that show aggression towards other dogs. As much as I'd like to watch them all, I have to do what's best to ensure the safety and well being of all the dogs under my care. • Does your dog have separation anxiety? I'm home for the majority of the day, but I go to the gym in the mornings, and I might have to do a drop-in visit or do a pick-up/drop-off. Since it's just me at the house, I'm unable to board dogs that have separation anxiety since there would be no one else to watch them if I have to step out. Unfortunately I'm unable to board dogs that whine or bark excessively since that can lead to the other dogs getting anxious as well. • Does your dog have any special needs? If your dog has any special needs (medications, needs help standing up or moving around, incontinence, etc.), I'll ask about it in advance so I have time to make any necessary preparations before their arrival. • Is your dog housebroken? It's not unusual for new dogs to be disoriented during their first stay (typically for the first day or two), and even housebroken dogs might have an accident when they arrive. I won't be able to board dogs that are not housebroken though, since lingering odors from frequent accidents may cause other dogs to urinate in the house as well. • Scheduling Please try to be as specific as possible with drop-off/pick-up times as I prefer to put the other dogs in secure areas when arrivals and departures occur. Also, please give me a heads up when you're on your way, as well as your estimated time of arrival so I know when to expect you.
