Pet care experience
Vet Tech with a Heart 🐾
Hello! My name is Janys and I wanted to tell you a little about me! Animals have been my heart and my life since I was little. What started as rescuing injured wildlife and stray animals turned into a 22 yr career in the veterinary field and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve spent 9 years as a Kennel Manager, 3 years as a Veterinary Technician Assistant, and 7 years as a Practice Manager for a Mobile Affordable Vaccine Clinic. I now serve as an Office Manager and Vet Tech Assistant for a Chiropractic Pet Mobile Van. Along the way, I’ve also been trusted with pet sitting for the past 16 years. My experience goes far beyond basic pet care. I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, trained to administer medications (including injections), and experienced in giving IV fluids and monitoring pets with special medical needs. Senior pets, anxious pets, special-needs pets...they are all safe with me. I’ve even worked at the Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys and many shelters and rescues, so caring for unique and exotic animals is something I’m comfortable with. At home my crew includes 6 dogs, 1 cat, 1 cockatoo, 2 conures, and an 85 lb sulcata tortoise...so whether your companion is furry, feathered or scaled, I’ve likely got hands on experience! When your pets are in my care, they become family. I follow instructions carefully, keep routines consistent and provide daily updates with messages and photos so you can relax knowing your loved one is happy and safe. What sets me apart? Professional veterinary knowledge, decades of hands on experience, and a lifelong passion for animal welfare...all wrapped in dependable, loving care. Your pets deserve more than just a sitter. They deserve someone who truly understands them.

Ratings and reviews
Janys was absolutely amazing! My cat had surgery the day before and I had an important meeting scheduled that I couldn't miss. Because Mr. Whiskerson had stitches and was wearing an e-collar, I was worried about leaving him alone and potentially getting the collar off or disturbing his incision. I specifically reached out to Janys because of her veterinary technician experience, and it was one of the best decisions I could have made. She took excellent care of him, made sure he kept his e-collar on, and administered all of his medications exactly as instructed and on schedule. To make things even more stressful, my meetings ended up running longer than expected. I contacted Janys about extending the visit, and she was incredibly accommodating and flexible. Knowing that Mr. Whiskerson was in such capable hands took a huge weight off my shoulders and allowed me to focus on my responsibilities without constantly worrying. If you're looking for someone knowledgeable, reliable, compassionate, and experienced with pets recovering from medical procedures, I cannot recommend Janys highly enough. I will absolutely be using her again in the future!
Janys was PHENOMENAL!! She was so good with communication on how my sweet boy was doing and sending pictures of their day together. Also I was so grateful for her accepting my last minute request so I could attend my grandpas funeral without stressing about my pup back home. Janys has the heart of gold and will go above and beyond for you and your fur baby. 10/10 ❤️❤️

Janys was incredible! She is so knowledgeable about animals and was so attentive to our kitties needs, going above and beyond! She spent time gaining their trust and giving them lots of love. I especially loved the written updates she would send every visit along with a bunch of pictures. She definitely made leaving the kitties while traveling a lot less stressful since I knew they were in such good hands. I know Jack and Pepsi look forward to seeing her again!

Janys is absolutely fantastic! She’s so thorough and experienced. She kept me updated while I was away and I knew Kiki was in good hands. Thank you Janys

Janys is by far the most exceptional pet sitter we have ever worked with. Our pets were cared for with incredible attention and compassion, and we returned to a home that was even cleaner than when we left. She provided consistent updates throughout and thoughtfully included a detailed aftercare note. Her experience with senior dogs was evident in the way she anticipated and met their needs. I highly recommend Janys and feel fortunate to have found her.

Calendar and availability
Schedule
Pet care is naturally built into my daily routine because animals are already at the center of my life. I work from home, which allows me to have a very flexible schedule and be readily available throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, feedings, medication administration, and quality time with your pets. Since I’m home based, I’m able to provide consistent attention, maintain routines, and accommodate early mornings, midday visits, evenings, and even last minute needs when possible. Caring for animals isn’t something I “fit in”...it’s part of who I am and how I structure my day. Because of my veterinary background, I’m also comfortable monitoring behavior changes and health concerns while you’re away. Whether your pet needs quick potty breaks, extended visits, or post op medical care. I can seamlessly integrate their needs into my schedule. Your pet’s routine becomes my priority.
Where your pet will stay
Safety, trust & environment
How I care for pets depends on the service requested, but my approach is always consistent: safety, structure, and individualized attention. In a client’s home, I prioritize keeping your pet’s routine as normal as possible. I carefully follow all feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and household preferences. I understand how important familiarity is especially for anxious or senior pets so I aim to reduce stress by maintaining their environment and daily habits. With my veterinary background, I also monitor for behavioral or health changes and will communicate immediately if I notice anything concerning. You’ll receive regular updates with photos and detailed messages so you always feel connected. In my home, pets are treated like family. I have a large, fully fenced 6 foot vinyl privacy backyard that allows for safe outdoor play and exercise. My own dogs are small (the largest is 16 lbs), pet-friendly, and experienced with foster dogs and visiting pets. I have successfully fostered and pet sat in my home many times before, so introductions are done thoughtfully and safely. I also have a securely locked, caged pool with a dog ladder. If your dog enjoys water, I can safely supervise pool time with me present at all times. Safety is always my top priority. All animals are welcome on the furniture because in my home, they are family. I do not currently own crates, so if your pet is crate trained or prefers one for comfort, I recommend bringing it along. Whether in your home or mine, your pet receives exceptional care, patience, medical awareness, and genuine love.

A typical day
I love making every pet’s stay feel like a fun, safe little vacation! We spend time playing in my large, fully fenced backyard, enjoying supervised outdoor time, and getting plenty of exercise based on each pet’s energy level. For dogs who love water, I can offer safe, supervised pool time with a dog friendly setup. Inside, there’s lots of cuddles, enrichment toys, and relaxation time on the couch. I tailor activities to each pet’s personality whether that’s playtime, walks, or just quiet companionship so they feel happy, comfortable, and loved.
