Availability

We are available any time during the school year, although we do work outside of the home (teachers). Often, we can come home midday for walks/visits, but your dog would be alone on school days for 4-5 hours. We are available on most weekends and school vacations/days off. We are home full-time in July & August. **If you have a dog who is wee-wee pad trained and/or can hold him/herself for 4-5 hours, we are happy to do weekdays/full week(s) from Sept-June provided you are comfortable with your dog being alone during the work week for about 4-5 hours at a stretch. We can often come home for a potty break/walk/visit around lunchtime, so feel free to inquire about your needs to see if we would be a good fit for a given time.**

You can rest assured your pet(s) will be our one and only for the duration of their stay.

Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has no pets
Children 6-12 years old

Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Information Janna W. would like to know about your pet

In order to accept a dog into our home, they should be generally calm/friendly with people, be very comfortable with older children (our youngest is 7 years old), be house-trained, and/or use wee-wee pads. Please note, we cap large dogs at 60 pounds. If your dog experiences separation anxiety (excessive whining, barking, or pacing behaviors) and/or you consider your dog "high energy," we are likely *not* a good fit. Additionally, we cannot host "escape artists" or dogs with any history of biting/aggressive behavior.

A typical day

We are happy to go on walks in our neighborhood and play with your dog(s) for the duration of their stay. Any agreed-upon-in-advance requests will be honored.

Pet care experience

We are a family of 4 (mom, dad, and two girls - ages 7 and 15) in a private home with a fenced yard in Greenburgh (10607). We have had three dogs and several small animals as part of our family, but our last dog crossed the rainbow bridge in September 2022. After some time to grieve, we look forward to sharing our home with your best fur friend while you are away. We are committed to your dog being the sole focus of our love and attention. We only board ONE dog at a time to ensure their comfort and happiness. We are comfortable giving pill medications, if needed.

Janna watched our dog for a few days over thanksgiving and we couldn’t have been happier with her and her family! Janna was very communicative and our dog looked so at home in all the pictures she sent. We would highly recommend her!

I searched for a long time before deciding on Janna, and I’m so glad I did. From our first conversation, I could tell she genuinely cared about dogs and understood how important it was for me to feel comfortable leaving my pups in someone else's care. Throughout the week, she sent regular updates, photos, and little notes that truly put my mind at ease. My dogs can be PitA's and are maniacs, but Janna handled their routines and quirks like a pro. When I came back, they were happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. It honestly felt like they had their own little vacation. Her home is welcoming and dog-friendly, and it was clear her whole family was involved in making sure my pups felt at home. If you’re anything like me and treat your dogs like family, Janna is exactly the kind of sitter you want. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave them with her again.

Janna and family are excellent caretakers for my 11yr old dog. She reached out when Stevie wasn’t feeling 100% and was able to get him feeling better after speaking with me. She is caring, loving and responsive to my dog and is great about sending updates. Thanks Janna!

Janna and her family were the most loving, welcoming hosts to our dog, Winnie!!! They treated her like family and truly provided a home away from home experience for Winnie. Janna is super responsive, communicating quickly and sharing photos and updates regularly. Winnie can be nervous and sensitive in new situations, but she came home so calm and relaxed. We will definitely be using Janna again!!
