Unfortunately, our experience with Janna and her boyfriend was extremely disappointing. Before leaving our dog, we clearly explained all of her habits, behaviours and needs. After only one night, we were told that she had scratched the door, chewed on a cable, removed and chewed two cable-channel covers, damaged her own bed, and barked during the night. We understand that dogs can sometimes cause damage, and we are not trying to deny responsibility for reasonable, documented damage. However, we strongly believe that some of this behaviour may have been caused by our dog not receiving enough attention or interaction. Instead of discussing a reasonable solution with us, we were told to put our dog in a local kennel because apparently she would not keep anyone awake there. This was particularly concerning and certainly not what we expected from a professional pet owner and sitter. We also found the handling of the financial side very disappointing. After just one night, they refused to refund the remaining amount of our booking and did not want to cancel our other booking with them, until we are not paying the claimed amount for the cause damages. We found that amount excessive for the alleged damage. We offered to have the electrical damage inspected and repaired by a qualified electrician ourselves, but this was apparently not acceptable because they insisted on a “professional”. Regarding the door, the scratches shown in the photo appear to be superficial surface scratches, yet they were described to us as deep damage. We were also repeatedly reminded that they had been “generous” by allowing a one-hour meeting beforehand for the dogs to get acquainted, as well as spending approximately one hour with us during meet and greet and drop-off. We do not consider this exceptional generosity; it was part of ensuring that the sitter and the dog were properly introduced and that the arrangement was suitable. During the meetings they did not show any signs that the time we spent there was not acceptable for them. Overall, we expected communication, reasonable problem-solving and professional handling of an unexpected situation. Instead, after one night we were left feeling that the priority was shifting responsibility and maximizing the amount of money they could charge us. Based on our experience, we unfortunately cannot recommend Janna.

Ons hondje Sabi heeft bij Janna en Remco een top tijd gehad! Hij logeerde er twee weken en kreeg alle zorg en aandacht. Het zijn echte dierenvrienden en super lieve mensen. Je kunt je hond er in alle vertrouwen achterlaten. Beste dog sitters ever! 🤩

Janna is de fijnste hondenoppas die ik heb gehad. Ik durf haar alleen met mijn hond met een gerust gevoel achter te laten. Janna is super lief voor mijn hond, mijn hond luistert goed naar Janna. Daarnaast laat Janna 2 vaste momenten per week mijn hond uit op de Brunssummerheide. Af en toe verblijft zij in mijn huis als ik op vakantie ben. Ook vind ik het er fijn hoe flexibel Janna is.
