Availability
I am home full time. I quilt and garden a lot and generally have the dogs with me as I work. My husband does the shopping and cooking so I can concentrate on the pups. I am not available for holidays as they are spent with family.

Pet care experience
GIG HARBOR! We love having dogs around. I am home full time and dogs are treated as family members. They get lots of love but also disciplined. We have a dog door and large fenced yard for playing. I have always owned dogs. I have gone through training with two of them.
Reviews
We have a terrier who is 100 percent terrier — reactive, completely unhinged around anyone he doesn’t know, and quick to sound the alarm at other dogs or anything even slightly unusual in his environment. He’s only ever stayed with family, so we were genuinely nervous about how he’d handle being in a new home. From the meet‑and‑greet on, Janis was calm, patient, and completely unfazed by his quirks. She understood him right away. Both she and her husband were quick to understand his personality and sent updates that really showed they “got” him — not just surface‑level check‑ins, but thoughtful little details that made it clear they were paying attention to who he is and what he needs. Once he was with them, it truly felt like Fozzie was welcomed as a member of the family. That level of warmth made such a difference for a dog who struggles with new environments. They have a wonderful yard and even a dog door that Fozzie figured out how to use — something we honestly didn’t expect from a dog who usually needs time to adjust. It was clear he felt comfortable and safe with them. They also had everything he needed on hand, including a maze feeder bowl for our super‑fast eater, which showed how prepared and thoughtful they are with all kinds of dogs. Janis made a situation we were anxious about feel easy and safe. We’re really grateful for how well they handled him.
Abby loved being with Janis. She was happy and well cared for and safe. Janis dealt with Abby's chomping and picking up sticks. What a wonderful experience for our little girl and such a relief for us. It was such a worry-free vacation knowing that Abby was so happy and safe. Couldn’t have found a better place for her to stay.
I left my 16 1/2 mini Aussie with Janis for 28 days. Millie is half blind, half deaf and wears diapers. None of these issues fazed Janis. She lovingly took care of my old girl and she and I will be forever grateful. I would highly recommend her for your pups needs. She truly is a compassionate dog lover.

Larry had the best time with Janis, and was a very happy boy when I picked him up. She is the perfect home away from home for him, and we can't wait to use her again!
