Specializing in senior and/or special needs dogs that require a little extra love and attention such as vision and hearing impairment, arthritic, mobility issues, dietary allergies and special dietary needs/restrictions or fear of other dogs. I am experienced in administering pain and anti-inflammatory medication both pill and liquid as well as eye drop and ear drop medication and light massage for sore joints and muscles. My own dog Otis was a special needs fur baby who was my constant companion and best friend. After over 18 years Otis passed away and even though I may not be ready to get another fur baby of my own I have lots of love to give and understand the struggle of finding appropriate care for a special needs pet. I have a single story home in a quiet residential neighbourhood with a fully fenced (6ft solid wood fence and locked gate) large backyard with a separately enclosed inground pool that dogs may use with parents permission and safety flotation vest. The pool is great for dogs with mobility issues. Close to two parks with a small quiet park a 2 min walk away and a larger more active park a 5 min walk away. I have recently started online self study classes which allows me greater flexibility to provide one on one care. For special needs pets I am happy to do a complimentary meet and great before providing any services. For daycare and overnight care in my home dog must be "non-shedding" or "low shedding" due to allergies. Such as shih-tzu, shih-poo, poodle, doodle, maltese, yorkie etc. For walks and visits to your home I'm happy to do all breeds . I am also a life long aquarist with extensive experience in fresh and salt water fish, reef aquariums and koi ponds. Also fish that are aggressive and carnivorous and enjoy live feeding. Happy to provide care and maintenance services while you are away.

Janis was AMAZING!!! I would recommend her in a heart beat! Janis gave Junior so much attention that we have feeling that Junior did not miss us for the 3 weeks that he was with Janis. A day before we were supposed to leave Junior had a minor mishap and had to be given medication which was going last over 4 days and Janis was also very accommodating and made sure Junior got his medication on time over the 4 days. Junior is a very picky eater and Janis made sure he was well fed and even gave him some fruits to fill him up. So as I said, I would recommend Janis in a heart beat to anyone looking for a caring sitter.
We’ve had such a great experience with Janis! She has provided both doggy daycare and boarding for our dog, Zeke, and we couldn’t be happier. Janis has excellent communication and always provides lots of updates, which gives us so much peace of mind while we’re away. Zeke has his quirks and definitely requires an experienced, confident handler, and Janis has exceeded our expectations every time. I’m very particular about who I trust to care for him, and I feel completely comfortable leaving him with Janis. We will absolutely be repeat customers and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who genuinely understands and cares for dogs!
Janis took such great care of Millie! She provided amazing daily updates with photos and treated Millie with so much love and care. It gave me such peace of mind knowing Millie was in such good hands. I would highly recommend Janis to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to look after their pet!

Janis was an absolute gem! Esme adored her time with Janis . The full size swimming pool, multiple walks per day and cuddles will have Esme visiting again. Janis is a dog lover and I trusted her 100% with Esme.
Janis is amazing! She looked after our little fur baby while we were on holiday. She sent us daily updates and photos which was great. She truly cares for the pets she looks after. We will definitely be using Janis again and would highly recommend.

I am currently doing self study online schooling from home so my schedule is very flexible to allow me to provide one on one care and attention.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fully fenced large backyard with 6ft tall solid wood fencing and locked gate as well as a fully fenced inground pool that the dogs can use with pet parents permission and a flotation safety vest. Quiet home with no other fur babies so your pet will get all of my love and attention. Happy to carry older dogs in and out of the house, car or up onto furniture and bed if needed. Dogs must always wear a seat belt in my vehicle if not crated. I have my own seat belt attachment to secure to a dogs collar or body harness. Crates will also be belted in if being transported in my vehicle. If you do not allow your fur baby on furniture or to sleep in the bed then please let me know and provide a crate for sleeping if needed.
A typical day
Your dogs day will be customized based on their activity level. Walks around the neighbourhood and to the park, play in the pool in nice weather if dog parents allow. Fun training exercises, play catch in the backyard and lots of cuddles. For full day-care services and overnight stays we can do trips to the off leash dog park about a 10min drive away if dog parents allow.
