My passion for dogs was evident as a child. As an adult, I found myself working as a vet assistant and for an animal rescue. I have fostered dogs and I continue to volunteer at a dog pound when I can fit it into my schedule. I have created a dog friendly home in order to give your canine best friend the most positive experience possible while being out of his/her own home environment. The amenities include a dog door, a small backyard secured with a privacy fence, play areas inside, full toyboxes, plenty of comfy places to rest and unlimited opportunities for window watching. Fresh water is available throughout the house, and homemade treats and/or other healthy treats are always on hand. My priority is your dog's happiness, comfort, and health & safety at all times. I am home much of the time and safety measures are in check. You can be assured of responsible dog care, and respect for your wishes and your dog's needs. Your peace of mind is important to me. Know that you will receive at least one photo update and/or video of your dog a day, and that I will virtually always have my phone handy for communication purposes. Walks may be provided at a variety of locations. For car safety, I use a seatbelt attachment with a harness on the dogs.

Our two dogs loved staying with Janine. Janine took care of them like their were her own. She sent us photos and videos of our pups regularly so we could see what they were up to and that they were doing great while staying with her. I highly recommend Janine to sit your dogs!

Janine was fantastic!! My Boston terrier puppy can be a handful. Daily pictures were great. Will definitely use again. Maggie is worn out. Obviously she had a great vacation

Janine was amazing with our sweet Oreo. She was understanding, caring, and intuitive about his likes and needs. Oreo is an older dog, and she was so patient with him. She sent pictures at the beginning and end each day which was so encouraging. I can’t recommend Janine more. I’d give her more stars, if possible!
Ali had a great time and even learned a new trick.

THINGS TO NOTE PLEASE: I send photo updates and sometimes videos of your dog's stay every day unless otherwise instructed. I limit myself to taking low to moderate energy dogs. I offer multiple dog (from the same family) discounts and extended stay discounts. I understand an accident when a dog is in unfamiliar surroundings. Beyond that, however, please, please, please only thoroughly housebroken dogs (exception for dogs who need to use doggy diapers or belly bands).

Is your dog into playing ball? We'll do that! Frisbee more his/her speed? We'll do that! Likes being chased? It's on!!! More into being a couch potato and/or getting snuggles? No problem. Wishes granted! Interactive dog puzzles and an assortment of toys (if allowed) are among the activities during their stay, too.

- The things that I want to know include, but are not limited to: What is their feeding schedule? Are they food aggressive? Do they have a tendency to resource guard? Are they afraid of fireworks or storms? Do they enjoy car rides, or do they get anxious? How are they on a leash? Is there anything that provokes them or that they are afraid of? What commands do they know? Do they have any special needs? When you arrive for the meet and greet, I will have you fill out a questionnaire about your dog's needs, personality characteristics, quirks (if any) and anything else you think that I should know. I'll also get your vet information and emergency contact on paper as well as some other information.
