As an experienced, full time dog sitter, I'm here to provide your small to medium sized dog a safe, clean, & cozy home environment. If your dog is not comfortable in a kennel, I'm your answer. As a former paraprofessional for children with special needs, and a mom, I have the experience and loving heart to meet your dog's emotional and structural needs. BOARDING: The core of my business is overnight sitting in my smoke-free home environment. Your dog will get my love and attention all day and through the night. No crating unless you request it. Protected mealtimes, proper rest, and outdoor time in my fenced in backyard. Whether your dog sleeps in a crate, a floor bed, or in my bed, I am there with your dog all night long. My mission is to keep your dog happy and healthy, and give owners peace of mind. You will receive photos and updates by text messaging throughout your dog's stay. Check out my photo gallery! Resident dog, Hawkeye, is a "Teddy Bear", (mix of Shih Tzu, Bichon Frise, and Poodle). He does not shed, and is hypoallergenic. His personality is calm and relaxed, except when the garbage trucks come by. 😉 DAYCARE: Offered only as needed for existing customers. CHECK-IN SERVICES: If you have a larger dog or cats, I can stop by to let your dogs outside, provide food and water, & clean litter boxes. On an as needed basis only, not full time. ABOUT ME: I love getting to know and care for guest dogs, and have been living with and learning about dogs for over 8 years as an owner, and over 7 years as a host. A love for dogs (and all animals) is so natural, enjoyable, and rewarding for me. My approach with dogs is based on the philosophy of Temple Grandin's “Animals in Translation” research to fulfill a dog's emotional needs first. Prior to this, for 5 years, I was a paraprofessional with the Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL). I have experience in ABA therapy for children with autism, positive reinforcement, crisis management, and classroom management.

This was our dog’s first stay with Janette and it was a great experience all around. We scheduled a meet and greet with her to see how our dog interacted with her dog and at her home. Everything went swimmingly. Our vacation was for a week and our dog was truly in good hands. Janette sent us pictures and videos several times a day where we were able to see our dog playing and interacting. Drop off and pick up were completely painless. It was a great feeling knowing that our dog was in such good hands and being able to see him regularly through her frequent communications. I highly recommend Janette based on our experiences.
Janette was wonderful with my dog! Her home is set up for multiple small pets and I was very comfortable leaving my dog at her home. She sent pictures and daily updates. Lovely translation and will definitely use her again
Janette is a true professional and certified dog lover! We had never left our Chihuahua mix with anyone other than family or friends before, but Janette was absolutely wonderful. She kept us well-informed of Biff's activities and was very patient with him. Thank you Janette!!
Janette was amazing with our 3 tiny, high needs dogs: a 17 year old senior, an anxious rescue, and an aggressive chihuahua. We loved that Janette sent us updates and pictures of how our dogs were doing. She took great care of them and her house is an oasis for dogs!

Schedule
Pet care IS my daily routine. Your pet will settle in quickly as she/he always has a person to depend on, and my friendly dog keeping watch over her/him. Your dog will enjoy outdoor freedom, fresh cold filtered water, protected meal times, comfy beds and furniture for lounging, and a nice lady who cares as much about your peace of mind as she does about your precious pet.

A safe environment is a must, that’s why I have a fenced in yard, and a three door system for entering and leaving the house. I keep a clean house too.

A typical day
Your dog will love to run in my large fenced in backyard. Active dogs love games of chase and fetch. and all dogs love the time to explore, watch, and sunbathe. No sidewalks here for walks. Dogs are always closely monitored, and I’m mindful of severe cold, severe heat, and wildlife.
