Friendly family care!
Hi! I grew up with three dogs, and even helped one of them give birth when I was only a teenager! I’ve always had a pet (birds, rabbits, fish, dogs) I often dog-sit for our neighbors and friends' dogs. Since my own dog loves company, we figured helping you with your pets is a great way to keep everyone happy! I have experience giving my own dog medications and therefore comfortable if your dog needs any oral medication. My current dog, Luna, loves being with other dogs. She’s super friendly and playful. It’s ok if your dog isn’t as playful, Luna will try her best to play, but then give up and go back to squirrel watching on the couch near the window. While I don’t have a cat, I have provided cat care for my in-laws and my dog is good with cats. So, I welcome cats, too! I do ask that you tell me if your dog or cat sheds a lot. Any favorite toys or treats should accompany your pet, but I also keep some at home. Let me know if some treats are not allowed. I keep a clean home and will ensure that your pet is bathed if they become too dirty outside or need a bath. Let me know what your pet loves to do, and I will happily do it! Note: starting summer 2026 I have a new job that may require no longer working from home as often. I will adjust my calendar as often as possible to reflect this.

Gus had a great time with Janette and Luna. Janette was very diligent about letting me know how and what Gus was doing and sent photos each day. I would certainly have Janette watch Gus again.
Janette and her family were so welcoming and loving with my dog, Ridley. We got lots of updates and photos of her enjoying her stay, and felt completely at ease leaving her in their care.
Janette and her family, including their dog Luna, are so wonderful to our dog, Lenny. She is so kind and communicative! Lenny loves spending time with them and going for walks in their beautiful neighborhood. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our dog!

Janette is a wonderful and engaged pet owner and sitter. She is extremely active, and her own higher energy dog is given tons of exercise every day with long walks and lots of running, often in wooded areas. She works from home on most days and is therefore able to provide an environment where dogs in her home are well cared for, exercised often, and rarely alone. She is a loving pet owner who has taken care of my own dog for me on numerous occasions providing a comforting, stable, and safe home.
Janette and her family are fantastic dog sitters. They really love to take care of pets. They are very active and go on multiple walks every day with them. They very often send pictures and videos. It makes leaving on vacation so much easier et really set our mind at ease. Janette and her family are kind, patient, loving and compassionate. My dog had stayed with Janette several times and is always so happy to see her and spend time there.

Schedule
I work from home pretty much full time so I will be able to walk your dog twice or three times a day when I walk mine. I provide chew toys and treats, if needed! I do run with my dog 2-3 times a week and can take your dog with me if they have experience going on 4-6 mile runs. Let me know! If it’s raining or I can’t go outside for too long, I can play fun games inside, like hiding treats and having the dog find them. Or teach your pet a new tricks like to twirl or roll over. I love to find fun ways to play with animals indoors on rainy days.

Safety, trust & environment
My yard is not fenced but I have a very long leash on a runner I can use outside if your dog wants to “roam” free in the yard (under supervision, of course). I have tons of chew toys, and places your pet can chill (like on pet beds or the couch). If your dog is crate-trained, please bring your crate, though I do have a medium-sized crate to offer if your dog needs it while here.
Pets
A typical day
I usually walk my dog in the morning when kids are going to school - 20-30 min walk. Then again, during my lunch break. Over the weekends, I can go to Whipple Hill or The Fells for longer walks. If your dog likes to go on runs, let me know! I run with my dog and will happily take your dog, too. I have tons of toys in the house for the dogs or cats to play with! You can bring your own chew toys or we can provide some.
