Safety, trust & environment

I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and trustworthy environment for every pet. In a client’s home, I stick closely to the pet’s normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. I follow all instructions carefully—feeding schedules, walk times, medications, and any specific preferences or boundaries. I’m very mindful of safety during walks (secure leashing, awareness of surroundings, avoiding unsafe situations) and I always make sure doors, gates, and crates are properly secured. I also keep the home clean and respectful, and provide regular updates so owners feel at ease. Building trust is really important to me, so I take the time to understand each pet’s behavior, comfort levels, and any signs of stress. My goal is always to make them feel safe, happy, and well cared for while giving owners complete peace of mind.

I can’t recommend Janet enough to anyone that needs their pet walked or cared for! She is one of the most genuinely caring people, and it really shows in the way that she handles animals. Janet lived and worked at a ranch for many years so has lots of experience with all types of animals and has a natural ability to read their behavior and respond with patience and confidence. I would and do trust her completely with any of my pets. She brings not only experience, but a level of kindness and reliability that gives real peace of mind.

Schedule

Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine and something I genuinely prioritize. I structure my days to ensure I have plenty of time and flexibility for walks, drop-ins, feeding schedules, and quality time with each pet. I’m active and already incorporate regular walks and outdoor time into my schedule, so caring for dogs fits in seamlessly. Throughout the week, I keep my schedule organized and manageable so I can give each pet my full attention, whether that’s sticking to a consistent routine, providing exercise, or just offering companionship. I’m also flexible and able to adjust my availability to meet different needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Overall, pet care isn’t something I squeeze in—it’s something I build my routine around.

Before caring for any pet, I like to gather as much information as possible to make sure I’m providing the best and safest care. It’s really important for me to understand each pet as an individual. Some key things I like to know ahead of time include their daily routine (feeding schedule, walk times, sleep habits), personality and temperament, and how they typically behave around new people, other animals, or different environments. I also ask about any medical needs, medications, allergies, or past injuries so I can be fully prepared. I also find it helpful to know about any triggers or fears (like loud noises, separation anxiety, or certain situations), as well as what they enjoy most—favorite toys, activities, and comfort items. Clear instructions for the home, emergency contacts, and vet information are also very important. The more I know upfront, the better I can make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away—and give you peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands.
