Hi I’m Janet With over 25 years experience caring from dogs of all ages; from playful puppies to golden oldies, I understand that every dog has their personality, routine and needs. I can administer medication, follow your dog’s usual routine and provide the care they need. I offer a home from home boarding experience, where every dog is treated as part of the family , with tons of love, attention, exercise and reassurance throughout their stay . Clean and well behaved small to medium sized dogs are even allowed to curl up on the sofa , if that’s what they are used to. My one to one approach , unlike busy boarding kennels and boarders that take on multiple dogs from multiple families , allows me to get to know your dog , follow their routine and help them feel settled whilst they are away from home . Your dog’s well-being is always my priority, so you can have peace of mind , knowing they are in safe and experienced hands .

Having known Janet for over 30 years, it’s clear that she has a genuine love for dogs and animals. She is friendly, kind, trustworthy and caring, and this really shows in the love and affection she gives to her own dogs. Janet has everything you could want in a pet sitter. I can confidently say that she will treat any dogs in her care with the same love, attention and affection that she shows her own. Our dog Macey absolutely loves Janet and is already looking forward to staying with Janet and her family soon. I know she will be well cared for, given plenty of affection, enjoy lots of lovely walks, and, of course, receive plenty of cuddles. She’ll have a real home-from-home experience. In fact, we may have a job getting her to come home! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Janet to anyone looking for someone caring, trustworthy and loving to look after their dog.
Janet is such a lovely gentle, calm character, and treated my dog Ivy as if she were her own. Ivy had a better holiday with Janet than we did in Portugal! She was taken to local villages and pubs, and even the coast on long walks, and had such fun with Janet and her family. I received photos and updates regularly while I was away showing me just how well loved she was the entire time. I am eternally grateful to have found Janet and wholeheartedly recommend her for anyones dog boarding needs!

Schedule
I am currently transitioning from a part-time school role to dedicate myself fully to professional dog boarding . Your dog will enjoy constant companionship as my husband, Richard, also works from home on a full time basis and is always on hand to keep your dog company . Our household is usually very quiet and settled; our children are grown up , with only one son still living at home. We also share our home with our own adorable dog, Theo the Sproodle .

The house is detached with a large walled garden at the front and a large secure garden at the back so there is plenty of room for your dog(s) to play and chill out . We have a large kitchen , utility room and living room all of which are dog friendly so there’s plenty of space for your pooch to find a quiet corner of their own without feeling overwhelmed . I will only take on a max of 2 dogs who must be from the same home . My dog Theo is a fun loving sociable Sproodle who will love some company . Until recently we had a golden retriever that sadly passed away so Theo is used to sharing his home with another dog .
Pets
A typical day
Every day is filled with plenty of fresh air , play and cuddles! Your dog will enjoy a minimum of 2 walks each day , with the opportunity for extra outdoor time depending on your dog’s individual needs and energy levels . We are very lucky to live in the heart of the Ryburn Valley, surrounded by woodland and close to the River Ryburn , making it the perfect setting for countryside walks with mine and your dog(s). Back at home, there’s plenty more fun to be had with a large selection of dogs toys and balls to keep everyone entertained. We especially love a good game of throw and catch with our beloved Sproodle, so there will be plenty of opportunity for play and interaction. And after a busy day of adventures, there’s nothing better than settling down for rest and cuddles in our cosy home from home environment

Every dog is unique, so please tell us about their personality, routine, favourite toys, walks, treats, likes and dislikes. Please also let us know about any medication, allergies, special requirements or concerns, as well as how they are around other dogs and children. You and your dog are always welcome to visit before their stay. Meet us, see where they’ll be staying and make sure it feels like the right home-from-home for your much-loved pet.
