Retired FA, Doggy love all day!
My family had dogs when I was growing up, so I've been around dogs a long time. When I got married and bought a house, I couldn't wait to get a dog. I've been married 56 years and have always had a dog, except for a few years before I retired. The family dog "Maggie" had passed, the kids were off to college, husband and I both worked. I decided it wouldn't be fair to have a dog just to leave him alone, so I waited until I retired. My last day at work was December 19, and I had "Sophie" by December 21. So excited to have a dog back in my life! I have trained puppies and older dogs, and have done agility training with one of my dogs, as well as basic training with all our dogs. Now that the kids are grown, the dogs have become the babies and are spoiled just like the kids were. I am a " pet grandparent " to Major a dog, and Solomon, a cat, who I take care of when needed. I also took care of my friends dog for 7 weeks while she was rehabbing from an accident.

Janet is an excellent fur baby sitter!!! I have never left my dog with anyone but Janet made me feel very comfortable leaving Roxy with her for six days. She messaged me and sent pics every single day. She even messaged me before I arrived the day I picked Roxy up. She spoiled her rotten I could see she was well taken care of while under Janet’s care. If I need pet sitting in the future Janet will be the first person I book. I hope she continues to open her home for dog care because she really cares about your baby as much as you do. Thanks Janet for your kindness and attentiveness while caring for Roxy. Your the BEST!!!

Great experience overall! Our dog wasn’t feeling well before we dropped him off, and Janet handled everything really well—made sure he got his medication on schedule and kept a close eye on him. That gave us a lot of peace of mind. She also sent pictures, videos, and updates, which we really appreciated. It was nice to see how he was doing while we were away. Would definitely book with her again.
Our dog was a part of the family when he was with Janet. Thank you for taking such great care of him while we were away!
All I have for Janet is praises! I normally get pictures when I leave Gracie with a pet sitter. However, hearing Janet's voice as she talks with Gracie while making the videos was very comforting! I could tell Janet was enjoying Gracie's company and vice versa. I could see in the pictures and the videos how comfortable Gracie was during the entire time. Gracie happily moved around her new environment as if she were at home. I have to say this was a great experience for me, Janet, and Gracie!

Schedule
I'm retired, so I have lots of time for your dog. I can walk with them, play with them or just chill out for cuddle time if that's what your dog likes. I am close to a dog park, so that is also an option.

Safety, trust & environment
I have 2 older dogs and a new guy who is only 6. (He was one of my Rover dogs that I took in when he needed a new home.) They are all family, and are welcome on the furniture and bed. Your dog will be welcome there too, unless that is something you don't allow. I will follow your rules. If your dog is more comfortable in a kennel, I can do that, too. I would need to know how your dog gets along with people and other dogs, so we would definitely do a meet and greet. I CAN NOT take males that have not been neutered/fixed, and I CAN NOT take females in heat. IF YOUR DOG HAS TROUBLE WITH STAIRS, I HAVE RAMPS OFF THE FRONT AND BACK PORCH. I ALSO HAVE A RAMP INSIDE FOR A STEP DOWN TO THE DEN, AS WELL AS RAMPS TO THE SOFA AND BED.
Pets
A typical day
We have a nice neighborhood for walking, and a fenced yard for playing fetch or just running around. There is a dog park nearby we can visit when the weather is good. We have lots of toys inside as well. if your dog has trouble with stairs, I have ramps on the front and back porch for easy access.
