Pet care experience
I have loved and cared for animals since I was a child. My entire family cares for animals and animal rights. I currently own 3 cats and have owned and fostered dogs all my life. I am retired so I am available fulltime to pet sit and do dog walks. Walking and taking care of animals is the highlight of my day most days! I have a fenced yard and also enjoy taking dogs out for walks. I have an extra bedroom available if a pet needs to be isolated for their comfort.

I debated leaving a review but decided it was important as a pet owner to share my experience before someone else trusts Jane with their pets. Upon meeting her, I found Jane to be nice, but she did not seem very experienced, especially with the pitbull breed, which we have two of. While this wasn’t a major issue, it raised some concerns given the common misconception that pitbulls are aggressive. We recently adopted a 5-month-old puppy and needed someone to let both our new puppy and our older dog (6 years) outside in our fenced yard. My main request was that the dogs not be left unattended, as puppies are curious and can easily get into trouble. Additionally, we have previously had issues with an aggressive dog entering our yard, so this was a significant concern, which I communicated to Jane. On Monday, she let the dogs outside and then went back inside, leaving them unattended. I had to remind her via message not to do so, and she replied with "Kk." This response made me feel like she might not have fully understood the seriousness of the situation. It also seemed she was unaware of the cameras throughout the house. We decided to give her a second chance on Wednesday due to our tight schedule. This time, she did stay outside with the dogs, but she had difficulty getting the puppy into the crate and used the leash to assist. Unfortunately, she left the leash on the puppy inside the crate, and when we returned home, the puppy had chewed part of it and vomited it up. The situation could have been much worse, and I consider our outcome to be lucky. It felt as though she only followed my request because she knew we could see her, rather than out of genuine concern for our dogs or home. I hope this feedback helps improve future experiences for both Jane and her clients. It is essential for caregivers to understand the responsibility of looking after someone’s pet to prevent any harm or accidents due to negligence. As for my experience, I would recommend seeking someone with more experience, particularly with puppies.

Jane was wonderful taking care of our dog Molly over the holiday. She came to meet Molly before we left and she kept us updated while we were gone.
Jane did a great job!! It was a bit of an unusual request but she was excited to do something a bit different, and did wonderful. Was very prompt, and performed the tasks very well. I was a little nervous while I was away, but when I got back, everything was in great shape. Thank you Jane!!
