Dog-lover specialising in solo, on-lead care.
I’m an ex-youth worker, university lecturer and author. I’ve always had dogs and cats in my life, and more recently bearded dragons (8 years), and I currently have a 5 year-old Standard Poodle. I love having dogs around me and offer your pet(s) lots of play, exercise and cuddles as appropriate! I’ve been working for Rover for about a couple of years now and this has given me experience of a number of different breeds.

I specialise in offering solo walks for your dog (if there is more than 1 dog and you usually walk them together, I will follow your usual routine) - I do not walk the dogs in my care in a mixed group. I will respect any instructions that you have with regard to looking after your dog(s) in your home. I would not walk your dog(s) off the lead unless there is a guaranteed secure field or you are 100% sure of their recall. For house-sitting I will need to bring my own dog, Phoebe, who is a friendly, playful Standard Poodle, so she will help to provide a distraction if your dog is missing you! As a poodle, she doesn’t shed her fur so she’s a very clean dog to have around! For local walks or drop-ins, I wouldn’t bring Phoebe with me, unless you want her to help with socialisation, but for house-sits she does need to come with me.

Jane did an absolutely fantastic job house sitting for us! We have two dogs, Buddy and Winnie, who have very different personalities and are definitely not the easiest to walk. Jane took the time to do a meet-and-greet beforehand to make sure everyone felt confident, comfortable, and happy. She completely put our minds at ease while we were away. I couldn't recommend her more highly—thank you so much, Jane!
Jane is fantastic, Burt loves to go for walks with her! Jane keeps us updated, sends lots of photos and we feel reassured knowing Burt is with her.
I was impressed after meeting Jane who came in advance to meet Molly . Molly is anxious ,rarely left , and only content with me yet Jane was so kind , calm and sympathetic to Mollys feelings and the dog sit went so well . She sent me a picture of her fast asleep on sofa , which is a first when I’m not about . She took her out more than once which really helped to occupy Molly , and helped with separation anxiety . Jane is so professional and seems to have a way with dogs . I would have no hesitation in recommending her and look forward to the next visit when I can escape 🤣🤣 Added to her thoroughly professional dog care , she leaves your home immaculate .
Jane came to meet Burt and he adored her! Jane was reliable and took Burt for a lovely long walk, he’s an excitable little one and Jane dealt with him brilliantly. We will definitely be using Jane again.
Jane was great, Hetty really loved spending time with her. I fell that my little dog is in very safe hands xx
Jane was excellent from start to finish. When she came to meet Arlo and all communication up to, during and after his walk was superb. Arlo really loved his walk with her. Will definitely be using again.

Schedule
I’m self-employed so I can be flexible with regards to your requirements. I am happy to take on bookings based on changing shift patterns, as well as regular, short-term or ‘as and when’ bookings depending on your needs. I am also happy to look after any small pets/reptiles/fish as well as water plants etc. when I am doing house-sits or drop-ins.

- Any special needs or requirements need to be communicated please! My aim is to keep your dog occupied so that they don’t miss you too much, so knowing all the things ‘not to do’ as well as the ‘to do’s’ is vital. Also, if there are other pet requirements or plants to water etc. I am happy to do these during house-sits and drop-ins.
