16 to 40 lbs
Unspayed females accepted, neutered males only
No females in heat
Takes only 1 client at a time

Availability

Our schedule depends on the time of year. Most of the time, Jane works down the street at the farm. Some of our dog visitors love to join us at the farm - to dig holes, sunbathe, explore, or mostly to "supervise". Michaela's schedule varies between being at the farm and working from our home office. Usually our dog visitors are with one of us all day. If that's not possible, we have the flexibility to check in on them every couple of hours.

Information Jane H. would like to know about your pet

The more information we have about your dog before the visit, the better. We love it when our clients tell us about all their idiosyncrasies and unique habits, because it helps us to understand their dog's behavior when they are with us. We always require a Meet & Greet before accepting a new client, because it gives us all a chance to make sure that we're a good match and to go over important pet care details.

A typical day

A typical day includes at least one long walk, bathroom breaks when needed or possibly a day at the farm. They will be around a lot of different loving people, including our kids, so if they want it, they can get lots of attention. There are also opportunities to socialize with other dogs, although we know that's not for every client and some dogs don't want to be around more than just Kimchi. Usually our dog visitors go home exhausted and happy after days full of adventure.

Pet care experience

We can't wait to take care of your dog! We are an active family with flexible schedules and one of us will be around most of the time to keep your dog company. We own a farm down the road, and depending on your dog's needs and the season, Jane might bring your pup to work. Michaela often works from home, so any stay-at-home dogs won't be alone, and our dog Kimchi loves her dog friends. We also have a great yard, and we love to go for walks in our neighborhood, especially the Heritage Trail just down the road from us. We have two kids, an 11-year old and a 14 year old, who have grown up around dogs and love helping take care of them. They know how to be gentle when that's necessary, and they know how to keep active dogs busy. We accept one dog at a time, unless you have two pets in your family, so your pet(s) will have individual care. We love our dog visitors like members of the family and have so much fun with them. Our dog, Kimchi, (1yo when we adopted her Sept 2019), is a Maltese Terrier Mix (we think) who loves other dogs. She is sweet, cuddly, and loves to play. About us: Michaela and Jane are both farmers who work down the road from the house. In the winter, we both work mostly from home. Michaela is also a professional chef and food stylist. We moved to the area from Manhattan in May 2015 to start our farm. Shortly after that, we said goodbye to our 15 year old sweet Wheaten Terrier. With all our extra dog love to share, we started taking care of other people's dogs during that time. If your dog is older and needs special attention, we have a lot of patience and can go the extra mile. If your dog is younger and needs lots of exercise, we will go on lots of walks and spend time playing. We used to walk dogs at two local animal shelters, and we have experience working with dogs with all kinds of personalities. Jane grew up with a Shitzu and Michaela grew up with Irish Wolfhounds, so we love all different sizes of dogs! About our home: We live in a multi-story house with a yard. We are happy to have your dog sleep in our room if that is what they're used to. There are lots of dogs in the neighborhood if your dog likes social time. If your dog is well trained and likes spending time outside, they can join us at the farm. 24/7 supervision may be available if necessary. Talk to us ahead of time and we can let you know if that's an option. But any dog that stays with us will have lots of attention and love. We can negotiate on price for longer visits and if funds are tight, so talk to us if you need it.

The BEST pugsitter in the universe. We have used them many times over the years and they always make sure our sweet Pancake is safe and warm. The only family that we trust enough to leave our precious pup with.

This was the first time leaving my dogs with "strangers". My dogs were taken care of like family and seeing all the photos/updates it was definitely a dog vacation. I would highly recommend this great family. 🙂

It was our first time leaving our dog for an extended time. The care Weagle received was wonderful. He settled right in. We were updated with daily photos. When we picked Weagle up, it was obvious that he was very comfortable being with Jane’s family and made himself at home! An overall great experience for Weagle and us.

Jane and her family watched my dog Bella this past August. It was my first time ever leaving her so I was a bit nervous and Jane was truly amazing providing updates and pictures throughout the entire week. Bella was extremely well taken care of and loved by Jane and her family and it was such a relief to find such an amazing family to care for her like she was their own. I could not have been happier with everything and hope to book with them for my next vacation.
