Pet care experience
Vet tech and trainer; animal lover!
I have been working with animals since high school and through the years have become a veterinary technician (although now I’m a manager at a vet hospital and don’t get to work as hands on with animals). I can provide some fun and love while you are away from your pet as well as provide basic medical care if necessary! I have also worked for 10+ years as an animal trainer (marine mammals, to rhinos, to dogs and cats!). I’d be happy to also help with any training questions or issues you might have. There’s nothing I love more than seeing a happy dog smile and seeing the love in their eyes or to make a cat feel comfortable enough to get cozy in my lap. I’m more available for evenings, overnight sitting, or weekends rather than drop ins due to my work schedule. However, if your location is close enough, I’m sure I could squeeze in a quick midday visit for some love and bathroom break!

Ratings and reviews
Janalee was great with our 14 week old puppy for a weekend! She sent us many pics/videos, and was always updating us. This was our first time boarding our pup and would highly recommend!!

I am very pleased to write Janalee a testimonial. She has been an in-home pet-sitter for my lab, Maggie, for three years and, honestly, it's like having a member of the family staying in our home. She not only brings her professional experience working in the veterinary field to the job, but her vibrant personality and love for animals shines through in everything she does. Maggie is a senior and I feel completely confident and comfortable leaving her in Janalee's care. In addition to the outstanding care she provides Maggie, she communicates in a timely manner and is always ready to accommodate us if her schedule permits. I highly recommend Janalee to anyone who is looking for a caring, conscientious person to care for their pet.

Schedule
I work Monday-Thursday 830-530 but live close by and can easily come home for mid-day bathroom breaks. Mornings would consist of feeds and outside play time. Evenings would consist of walks and/or outside play time, feeds, and hanging out. The overnight routine will depend on the what my pet guest needs - do they need to be crated or kept separate or would they prefer to sleep on the bed! My own pets are extremely flexible and tolerant so we can easily cater to our pet guests.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
In my home, I would stick to their normal routine as much as possible (feeding times, bathroom break times, walks, etc.). I have a spacious, fully fenced backyard so there would be plenty of time to get some exercise in the mornings and afternoons. If my pet guest likes to play with dogs, then there will be a lot of play time with my own pup, and if not, then there will be space available to give everyone a break if needed.
Pets
A typical day
This is dependent on the pet but dogs parks, beach runs, and hiking are my go to activities. If they are not comfortable in those environments, a long walk or playing in the backyard are just as great!
- Cats0 to 15 lbs16 to 40 lbs41 to 100 lbsNo females in heatJanalee can host up to 1 pet per night
- The main thing I’d need to know about a dog is if there are any aggression issues. Do they get along well with other dogs and cats? Do they like to go to dog parks or the beach or do they prefer more solitary fun?
