Loving Dog Care for 13+ Years
Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I had my own dog, Fento, for over 13 years, and caring for him taught me patience, attentiveness, and how to really tune into a dog’s needs. I’ve also looked after many friends’ dogs over the years and feel very comfortable with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I take the time to understand what makes each dog feel safe, happy, and at ease. Being around dogs comes naturally to me. When your dog is with me, they’ll be cared for with attention, kindness, and respect - just like I would my own.

Bo was taken care of with the upmost kindness and professionalism. I was concerned leaving him for the first time however he felt right at home and settled in quickly. Jana also sent me regular updates of their fun outings! I would definitely recommend Jana for your pet!

Had a great experience with Jana and our 14 pound shihpoo. Jana is kind, attentive and responds quickly. You can tell she is a genuine pet enthusiast who has a wonderful setup in her home for you pup to feel safe and provided for. She took our pup on lots of long walks and made sure he had everything he needed.

Jana was amazing. My dog is blind and deaf and can be a bit much when meeting new people and being new spaces. Jana was unphased by it all - she was so calm and accommodating. Ernie was in love with her by the end of their first day together. She is also very prompt with replying. Highly recommend!
Jana took great care of my new puppy Gunnar during his daycare visits. He was always tuckered out from playing and would sleep deeply as soon as I got him in the car. I totally recommend Jana!

Schedule
I’m self-employed with a flexible schedule, which allows me to build my day around the dogs in my care. I provide consistent companionship, regular walks, and plenty of attention throughout the day. Every day includes outdoor time, whether that’s neighbourhood walks or trail outings. I often go to Snyder's Flats Conservation Area, where dogs (if appropriate and approved) can enjoy safe off-leash time. I adapt to each dog’s routine, energy level, and needs to make sure they feel comfortable, active, and well cared for.

I care for each dog based on what they need - some want more activity, some just want to feel safe and relaxed. My home is calm, pet-safe, and has plenty of cozy spots to rest. I stick to the dog’s usual routine as much as possible - feeding, walks, and anything specific you share with me. If I’m caring for your dog in your home, I keep things consistent and respect your space so your dog can stay comfortable in their own environment. Building trust - with both dogs and their people - is really important to me.
A typical day
We usually start the day with a walk or some active time to get fresh air and burn off energy. I live close to Snyder's Flats Conservation Area, and if your dog is comfortable off-leash, we usually head there for a good run and playtime. During the day, there’s a mix of activity and downtime - walks, outdoor time, and plenty of attention. I keep things flexible depending on the dog’s energy level and personality. Later in the day, we’ll head out for another walk or just relax - whatever suits your dog best.
