Pet care experience

We love caring for pets

DOG/HOUSESITTING We have steady clients in Vancouver, Camas, Battleground, Ridgefield and beyond (north) for long-term stays. We don’t service Oregon because of taxes. Paul does most of the pet and housesitting because Jan broke her femur two years ago -- that has taken its toll. Paul is newly retired but still needs reliable work-fi. We do long-time care, usually for multiple pets. We prefer a minimum of a week. BOARDING IN OUR HOME Because Paul is gone housesitting a lot, Jan takes dogs for boarding who are older and with low energy levels. Our little guy (Typo) is older and the higher-energy dogs make him nervous. We don't take dogs under three years old. Dogs must be okay not being walked, instead released in our large, fenced backyard. We've had over 30 years of experience with dogs. We've owned four dogs of different sizes. We have a 4 1/2 # Papillion/Yorkie rescue who is laid back - most of the time. He is 15 years old and an old man. Our guy actually does better with larger dogs. . We take our little guy out in our yard for piddle breaks. Both of us work from home. We love having returning dogs. We always do a Meet and Greet before agreeing to care to make sure it's a good fit, for us, for you and your dog. We have a standard list of questions and want to hear what you are specifically looking for. Paul is high-risk on six different areas, so although most people are no longer wearing masks, we ask that you wear a mask if you come for a Meet and Greet in our home. We always feed dogs separately. We send daily photos and occasionally videos with a little report on how your dog is doing. DAYCARE is not a one-day deal. It would be a long-term arrangement, over weeks and months. Why we love dog sitting. We've owned dogs off and on for over 45 years. At one point we had 4 kids, five cats, two dogs, fish, a bird, and a bunny! Now we have our little dog, "Typo."

Jane and Paul were excellent! Words cannot describe what a relief it was to find someone at the last minute who truly cared for our senior dog Mollie! The updates from them were very much appreciated, and Paul left no trace of being in our appreciated. So reliable and trustworthy we will surely be using them again in the future. Thank you, Chris & Tina Reyes

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From start to finish, communication was excellent—consistent updates and tons of pictures of our dog, Oliver, gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear Oliver was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. On top of that, we came home to a spotless house. The sitter went above and beyond by tidying up and making the bed - truly no trace they had been there except for a very happy dog. Highly recommend to anyone looking for someone reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely great with pets!

A typical day

Paul can do walks with dogs. Our little guy does a loop that is a little over a 1/4 mile. Boarding, we do yard time. Your dog's sleeping arrangement would be with us, in their own bed, or crated, whatever your pet is used to. Time we'll spend with your dog We let Typo out multiple times a day, as needed. Otherwise, our little guy tends to sleep near me as I write. Any time I'm up, we tend to take a little break and play. Your dog would typically be with me all day, unless I run an errand.

Paul has a lot of experience with dog/housesitting. We've had dogs of all sizes and temperaments, as well as cats that we've been told he will never see, but they end up taking treats from him and coming to him for attention! He tends to koi ponds, fills hummingbird feeders, even gathers eggs from chickens.
