Welcome to my Rover profile! I think I stand out from other sitters because of my animal care background! I grew up on a farm where I cared for animals every day - including lots of dogs and cats! Growing up, my family trained and showed German Shepherds where I learned a lot about handling and caring for large breeds. I also have 5+ years of experience working at animal shelters - as well as having 2 rescue dogs at home! We attend weekly classes with our rescue shepherd since he has leash reactivity issues where I'm continuing to learn and grow with him each time. Our other dog is going through therapy dog certification where we hope to one day bring her to Childrens Hospital as a therapy dog. I have a lot of experience caring for cats as well. I feel comfortable giving medications, eye drops, or dealing with shy or uncertain cats- I have yet had a cat that didn't warm up to me! I am passionate about animals and providing the best care possible for every dog and cat. I'm doing this as a side hustle currently so Tuesay-Thursday I can't do drop ins or walks during the work day (before or after work is fine! Or Lunch time walks/drop ins at 12pm are great too). Otherwise, I have a very flexible schedule and always invite people to send over last minute requests! Sometimes I work from home randomly or can leave for an emergency drop in - just let me know :)
