Welcome to my Rover profile! What sets me apart from many sitters is my extensive animal-care background. I grew up on a farm caring for animals every day, including plenty of dogs and cats. My family also trained and showed German Shepherds, which gave me a lot of experience handling and caring for large breeds from a young age. I also have 5+ years of experience working with animal shelters and currently have rescue dogs of my own. One of our dogs attends weekly training classes for leash reactivity, so I’m very comfortable working with dogs who may need a little extra patience, structure, or understanding. Our other dog is working toward therapy dog certification, with the hope of someday volunteering at Children’s Hospital. I have lots of experience with cats as well and am comfortable caring for shy, nervous, or uncertain cats. I can also administer medications and eye drops when needed. I love earning a cat’s trust and have yet to meet one that didn’t eventually warm up to me! Animals are a huge part of my life, and my goal is always to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I know how important it is to have someone you can truly trust with your pets- so expect a lot of pictures and updates with every single drop in! :) I currently do Rover as a side gig, so Monday–Friday I’m generally unavailable for daytime walks or drop-ins, with the exception of lunch around 11AM-12:30 PM. Before-work and after-work visits are usually no problem. Outside of those times, my schedule is very flexible, and I’m always happy to receive last-minute requests! My work schedule can occasionally change, so if you need something outside of my typical availability, feel free to ask — I may be able to make it work.
