Pet care experience

Home all day to care for your dog

Theres never been a time where we've not had at least 1 dog in our home. I have volunteered for rescues in many states for the past 15 years and have even brought dogs home to be fostered for weeks even months at a time. I've spent 1 year working as a vet assistant in a busy veterinary clinic in AZ and know basic first aid and cpr for dogs. I offer a loving, safe, stress-free, environment for your pets with plenty of positive reinforcement. I personally have had small breeds 3-15 pounds for the past 22 years (add more if you count growing up with chihuahuas) so am aware of all possible hazards with the little ones too. When in our home your pet will be treated with respect and cared for as one of my own.

Jamie is wonderful! My little dog loves her. He has separation anxiety and Jamie was so good to help him through it.

Jamie is absolutely the best! We needed her last minute and she saved us! Our little guys were so happy when we picked them up.

Very disappointed. I dropped my dog off and thought everything was great even got text updates that he's adorable and that he's attached to the daughter of the family. Then I get another text 2 hours later saying "hey you need to come pick up your dog. He's growling, and won't let anyone near him...etc". She requests I pick him up. Then I get a follow up text an hour later when I said I'm going to come pick him up saying "Oh take your time. he's actually calm now we put him in a kennel to eat and he's even asleep in there"... To be quite honest this person seems very inexperienced, and I wonder if they know how to handle dogs and adjust them into the environment cuz it was obvious that he just had anxiety. We had only been gone 4 to hours. Been using Rover app for over 6 years and have never had to pick my dog up because the person watching them was uncomfortable. Really nicely otherwise cute shihtzus. She did refund the overnight.

Safety, trust & environment

In my home, dogs are a big priority. There’s always fresh water down. I keep a watchful eye constantly especially with the smaller breeds when we go out in the yard for potty breaks because of possible predators (hawks and coyotes). I’m also aware of signs of bloat in those giant breeds and try to stay in tune with and be watchful of any changes in your pet (and will let you know asap) while in my care.

Pets

A typical day

I play a lot of fetch and gentle tug of war. On occasion we will also spend time doing basic commands for treats (sit, lay down, stay), and some days we’re just lazy and like to lay on the couch get lots of pets, belly rubs and watch tv. I don’t take dogs for walks or trips outside of my backyard for safety reasons, my fenced yard is big enough for exercise and play and I don't have to worry about anyone slipping out of their collar or harness. Dogs will stay in my home and backyard and will be supervised when in the yard. There’s plenty of dog beds and toys to go around as well. If you'd like your dog freshened up (brushed bathed and blow-dried, nails filed with nail grinder) while in my care, please let me know.

Age, activity level, house trained or not, allergies, aggression, anxieties, any destructive behavior… just give me a quick rundown of your pup. The more I know about them the better. Also if you have a male who may lift his leg, if you’d be okay with them wearing a belly band between outings. I’m available for meet and greets. I will often require a trial day before agreeing to recurring daycare or an extended booking with your dog.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
