Availability

My schedule is flexible and allows me to provide attentive, consistent care for the pets I work with. I intentionally limit the number of bookings I accept so each dog receives the time, engagement, and structure they deserve. Adventure visits and excursions are typically scheduled during daylight hours when dogs can safely enjoy outdoor activity. House sitting bookings allow me to maintain a dog’s normal routine in their home environment while their owners are away. For travelers visiting the area, I’m often able to accommodate daytime adventure outings or check-ins so your dog isn’t spending long hours alone in a hotel or rental. Advance notice is always appreciated, especially during peak travel seasons.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in their home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. Dogs tend to settle best when their environment, schedule, and expectations remain consistent while their owners are away. I take time to learn each dog’s personality, energy level, and routine so I can provide care that fits their individual needs. Daily care typically includes feeding, fresh water, exercise, play, and plenty of attention and engagement. For active dogs, I often incorporate structured outings or longer walks so they can burn energy in a healthy way. Safety is always a priority but burning energy is the focus. Dogs are kept on leash until recall and trust are established then we move to off-leash areas for excursions. I pay close attention to body language and surroundings during walks or outings to ensure dogs remain comfortable and safe. When staying in a client’s home, I respect the space as if it were my own. I keep things tidy, follow the household routines provided, and maintain clear communication with updates and photos so owners know their pets are doing well. I also come with my 25lb mini aussie who is my CEO (chief entertainment officer) - he provides a bridge between myself and your pet. My goal is simple: happy dogs and peace of mind for their people. I run this as a professional business so I am insured and bonded beyond Rover. See my website marypuppinsexpeditions dot com for more recent reviews.

Information Jamie G. would like to know about your pet

If your dog is reactive towards food, dogs, cars, or anything else, knowing ahead of time will allow me to control the situation. Likewise any behavioral issues, allergies, or health conditions. Good physical fitness is important as our routine can be a bit like boot camp if they aren't in shape for it.

A typical day

Physical as well as mental activities are important. Physically wear them out with games, a walk, etc. Nose games and seek/find games to help stimulate them mentally as this is twice as effective at creating a calm mind in a dog. Our baseline is 90minutes of hiking and playing per day along with car rides and just being engaged in daily activity. Your pup will become a member of our pack - don't blame me if they think life is better with Mary Puppins!

Adventure care for high-energy dogs

Pet care experience

I specialize in caring for high-energy and working-breed dogs that need more than a quick potty break. My approach focuses on structured engagement, movement, and clear communication with the dog, which helps them stay calm, balanced, and fulfilled while their owners are away. For over 10 years I worked with horses, which taught me how to read animal body language, establish trust quickly, and maintain calm, confident leadership around large, powerful animals. Those same skills translate extremely well to dogs — especially active breeds that thrive with guidance and clear boundaries. My experience includes: • High-energy and working breeds (Aussies, Labs, Shepherds, hunting dogs) • Structured exercise and adventure outings • Multi-dog households • Senior dogs and medication routines • In-home sitting that keeps dogs comfortable in their own environment Dogs in my care get engagement, structure, and attention, not just supervision. Special Skills • Comfortable handling high-energy and working breeds • 10+ years experience working with horses and reading animal behavior • Confident with large, strong dogs • Experience managing multiple dogs safely • Focus on structured exercise and enrichment rather than passive care • Calm, consistent handling style that helps dogs settle quickly I’m especially a great fit for active dogs who need real exercise and engagement while their owners travel or work long days.

Jamie is awesome with our fur kids. She went above and beyond to make sure they got enough exercise and attention while we were away. We would not hesitate to recommend Jamie for in home petsitting or dog walking... The pups love her and we do too.

Jamie was great with our 2 Brittnay Spaniels. She either hiked with them or took them to the dog park almost every day. Super responsive and provided lots of great updates.

We appreciated her flexibility when we had to travel on short notice. And she handled our 3 neurotic happy dogs with calm confidence. Super sitter!
